Thanks for your comment! Your idea for a movie is surely worth picking up. I experienced the reading of Syd Barrett's biography already as a movie, proving that his life story possesses plenty of qualities to turn it into fascinating images.
It surely is one of the features which give Syd Barrett's music its peculiour flavour. It becomes the more special when realizing that Barrett's compositional skills were purely based on intuition, as his knowledge of music theory was negligible. Keyboardist Rick Wright was the only band member who was musically educated and therefore capable to interpret a time signature change as such, consequently directing the other members in performing them.

Hahaha! Dominoes, yeah! That one's been on my list for a long time, together with Terrapin by the way. However, I want to do Dominoes exactly the way Syd Barrett does it, with all the weird time changes and phrasing, which is really difficult, I can tell you. Perhaps I set my aims too high, realizing that Syd Barrett never played his songs twice the same way, meaning that these time changes in the recorded version are ad lib. Still, that's how the song is in my head and subsequently it'll have to come out in the same fashion when covering it. Cheers, M.
