Had a little more free time than usual today during training so decided to film the workout as well as give some early feedback on a few things I need to make dedicated videos on.

Only thing I'm gonna be curious about with the pioneer sleeves is the sizing compared to like the IR sleeves, I wore a XL in iron rebel but had to take them off during my sessions. Love the pioneer brand and when I squatted in knee wraps they are my go to knee wraps!
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Год назад
That's what annoys me about all these sleeves. Sizing sucks. I'm a small in inzers, a medium in A7, large in titan, Xl in iron rebel and a 2xl in cerberus.

What's your opinion about Titan TKS knee sleeves compared to A7 or Inzer? Have quite similar geometry than you, have tested all new models (Pioneer is not available for Europe) except Titan. Worth giving a try over A7 Rigor Mortis (best shape for me)?
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Год назад
So the TKS I have are too big, but they fit more similar to the inzer (flared top and bottom). A7 also flares but they use a different stitching pattern where i find the bottoms do not flare as much, thus I prefer them over the other 2 mentioned.

Have you talked about why the app vs personal coaching from Wenning etc in one of the videos I haven’t watched yet? Thanks for the continued reviews and info on sleeves-I’ve never worn them but I’m getting to the age where it feels more difficult to get my knees warmed up-and keep them warm throughout. I never realized there were different shapes, for instance. Definitely saved me some trial and error there.

So I've re-edited this comment a few times as I realize my question has evolved (lol hopefully this just leads to your channel getting more engagement overall). I still can't get my head around the amount of volume / hitting all three compound lifts in a workout. When I did JuggAI in the past - if that was prescribed, I'd either end up not doing it, or I'd be so fatigued for my later workouts I'd either have to skip a workout or modify a future one because of soreness. Do you think for an older adult (I'm slowly joining that category) that JuggAI is able to adapt and not over fatigue you? (also thinking as someone who came off a back injury a year ago, doing squat bench and deadlift in a training day with volume sounds sketchy on my low back). I'm considering some coaching options and JuggAI is in the mix at the moment but if I am just going to get bashed over my head with volume to the point where I am in pain / not finishing workouts because it's too much...it might push me away (even if it's cost effective) I know this is a complex comment / question for you to answer and it probably is better suited over an email / IG DM but hopefully this drives more engagement on your channel 😁
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Год назад
I think SBD days are always doable. They can take some time to dial in however. I think the key is spending your efforts wisely. For me that's the first main movement gets the most love, bench for most is non fatiguing, and for the third movement of the 3 for that day it's usually prescribed lighter work. However if you're getting a higher RPE, and logging it correctly, it should back you off accordingly by cutting intensity, volume, or both.
@MrGusOrlando
@MrGusOrlando Год назад
@@BasementBrandon Interesting! I am considering changing coaching plans so it'll definitely be an option. Plus a free 2 week option you mentioned makes me feel like no harm no foul to an attempt at it.

Hey Brandon, could you do a video discussing plates? I am trying to find a good pair of training plates for powerlifting. Both the Eleiko and Rogue calibrated plates are among my top desired plates, but I am also investing heavily into other areas of my gym. I am conflicted between wanting premium buy once cry once type plates that will be used for decades, and investing into other areas because weight is weight.
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Год назад
Do you really want/need calibrated plates? If yes, I think Hansu plates are the best bang for your buck outside of sales from other brands. To me however, most don't need calibrated at home and can get some good machined plates for much less, thus freeing up funds for other equipment. I have a video series on picking the right plates that I did during covid.
@jugjivan
@jugjivan Год назад
@@BasementBrandon I don't know if I would call it a need. Maybe a desire? My background is in powerlifting, I have completed, and I want to get back into training (coming off unrelated injuries). Hansu is local to me so I was considering their plates whereas machined plates available to me here in Canada cost just as much if not more than the Hansu plates after the local pickup discount. I am also considering just getting thinner bumpers (only a little more than the calibrated plates) since I am going to be getting a small set anyways for olympic lifting.
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Год назад
@@jugjivan If price is not a deciding factor, then I do think it makes sense to practice how you'll play (assuming you want to compete again). If not, Hansu also sells some deep dish plates that aren't overly deep like the Rogue's that I had and were pretty nice (I have a video on those as well) and should be cheaper than their calibrated set.

Don't get the Rogue one. Get the original. The price difference isn't worth it when the only difference is an additional (and unnecessary) lock pin and the matte black finish. Save your money unless you want the matte black finish, and spend your money elsewhere. For the difference you can get the transformer bar and a new Buddy Capps bar (maybe slightly more with shipping factored in).
