Video I made for all of you out there who are auditioning for Juiliiard and have questions. if you have more questions, feel free to message me! Follow me on Twitter: @calebmills99 Like me on Facebook: CalebMillsStewart
thank you so much. I may be auditioning either this year or next year depending on if I want to graduate early... this was very helpful and inspirational :)
thanks for posting this video i saw your monologue you're a great actor i have an audition soon so it's given me a good idea of what we'll be expected to do good luck for the future
I am definitely applying to Juilliard. I want to study theater and music there and I believe I can get in. I've been studying theater since 5th grade and music since 3rd grade. I'm an aspiring Broadway performer and want to be an actor/singer and composer. Thank you for creating this video!
Hey Caleb I'm recording my monologues but facing a lot of problem. Can't keep a single monologue under 2 mins. Also I'm feeling the moment but in the recorded video my expressions aren't reflecting on face. Very frustrating. Actually I don't have any experience. Can you please tell me what to do? If I send you my recorded videos would you look at those for me. I would be really grateful to you.
Thanks for the video! For the audition, when they asked you to sing, are they looking for someone with a good singing voice, (as in musicals) or was it more looking at how effectively you can use your voice?
Did you live in New York at the time or for the 40 student call backs in New York did you have to fly out there with your own money or was the flight provided for you? Also, how do you get the "four year degree program (that) requires 24 credits from Juilliard’s Interdivisional Liberal Arts curriculum"? Thank you for your time and congrats on Julliard. :-)
thank you soooooo much!!! this video is a life saver!!!! i know its a ways off but im in eighth grade and dream of going to juiliard!!! i am truthfully an artist at heart and my soul just feeds off of preforming and the thrill of being on stage! right now i am in a very acedemic school and its just not good for me. although i do all the community and regional theater i can, its hard to keep up with the work load. any ideas on good preforming art schools? i live in la. again thanks for the video
I really love the arts, REALLY love them, and have been doing theatre now for about 10 years, but I'm also an intellectual per say, so I'm having a very difficult time deciding between the sciences and the arts. I was wondering, is there any way that you know of to figure out which course is better suited as a career?
@MSullivan1993 It's not based on previous experience, per se. But rather talent based. Basically, if they see potential in you not on how many plays or training you have had.
Hi, thank you for all of your videos, they have been really helpful. I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but I am about to graduate high school and for financial reasons I haven't had the ability to do any formal training. For the resume do they expect an extensive background in drama, or can you have a small list of experience. I plan on transferring in a year and joining community theater, but how concerned are they with your previous experience?
Thanks for this :-) I'm auditioning in like 6months and I'm terrified, what did u have on ur resume if u don't mind me asking, cuz I've done about 20 shows/community theater stuff so.. And I volunteer at the library and that's all I really have, I'm trying to get more things but I don't know what else to do
@ArroyoSebastian Acting career is going pretty good. Got cast on a web series, that I should start shooting pretty soon. As for the best BFA programs? NYU, Juilliard, University of Texas Austin (where I went!), SUNY, UCSD, etc! Thanks for watching!
It depends really on what you want. Like, single or double room. Or your meal plan. Those things add up. But I think the average is about 40,000-60,000.
hallo! Thanks for the great video, helped me alot. I'm a 16 year old girl from Norway with a dream to be a Julliard drama student in the future. I have always been in love with acting and at the age at 13 I managed to get a role in an Norwegian tv-series named Sky blue. The year I acted in the series I really fell in love with acting, and I can't imagine a future without it. I just wonder how much does it costs to take a master in acting at julliard, and how can I apply when I live in Norway? :)
What were the interview questions? What did they do at callbacks? Can you give a more in-depth experience about the second part of your time there? What was the 3rd callback like???
this video was very helpful! I do have a question though; do you have to go to a university for four years and get a degree or whatever as well as juilliard? :) i feel werd asking this question. im actually still in middle school, but i am gathering as much info as i can because juilliard is my drea,
@calebmills99 My friend, one last question. How many people where at auditions with you, and around how many got 1st round callbacks? Thank you, my date is approaching!
This may be a dumb question but I've always wanted to be in the drama department of Juilliard, do still take like maths and sciences and stuff? Jw because I suck, emphasis on suck, at math.
@calebmills99 How is your career in LA going? I did not end up applying to julliard last year, but am this one. Im studying theatre at PSU. what a beautiful career! good luck, and again. thanks for your videos. in your opinion. what are the best BFA Acting programs in the USA? take care
I am a senior in high school, still 17. what is the average age of the people auditioning? actual professionals? please respond my friend, thank you. this video was really helpful. i would have freaked out if i got there and asked me to perform a song, i would know what to sing. thank you
@HeartShapeGlasses007 I really can't speak to which career you should choose. I will say this, I chose a career as a an actor because I really can't do anything else. I wouldn't even say I chose it, it chose me. If you feel he same way about the arts, then the choice should be clear! :)
Hiya, do you know how hard/easy it will be for me to get a scholarship to juilliard? I live in the uk and would love to be able to get into juilliard also I don't have a lot of money and i go to a community school and have only ever done drama there due to money thanks a lot :)
hi my name is angelika im 15 years old , my dream is to go and studdy on juilliard..DRAMA....im eveeryday in juilliaards webpage since i was 11 years old... i hope ill make it |
Reading doesn't suck! Hahahaha LOL Thank you sooooooooo much for this video, I really want to go to Juilliard, but... Um, what if I didn't study High School in the US, does it matter? I'm Mexican-American & yes, I AM legal on both countries, I just really want to know that, please? Thank you so much (:
Haha, it doesn't suck. I'm thinking Julliard expects you to have a solid understanding from Greek to modern plays. But yeah, pick something that you care about. That's the essence of art. If you don't understand that, just go find something else to do with your life.
wow like i really want to go to juilliard for acting but how can i wen i cant sing .... lol hoolly crap didnt expect that ... well im off to singing lessons thats all ive got if i wanna act o gosh lol
