This video was a pain in my butt, but I think it's my best edited one so I cant really complain. Tried a different style for this one. It feels a bit too recapy to me, but I thought it fits since I was trying to both talk about the manga, while also narrating. Not sure how I feel, do let me know. Thank you for giving this arc and the post-Shibuya Incident story in general its flowers. I see a lot of people who just wrote everything past Shibuya off as inferior without really giving it much thought, and I appreciate you taking a closer look to appreciate the art and storytelling on display here.
I don’t care what anyone says but Maki vs the Zen’in clan is *still* one of the coolest moments in the series. After the death of her sister at the hands of her father you got the reverse jumping of like 30 dudes, her absolutely decimating everyone is some of the most hardcore ways to dates (slicing her dad’s head in half, destroying someone’s eyes through force, walking out of a destroyed building with a dude’s head, ripping throats out-), then putting Naoya in his place with a single punch. Finally finishing it off with Maki walking off with a cold rage to destroy everything that ruined her life, while Momo mourns Mai. It’s just amazing and it firmly made her my new favourite character for the rest of the series.
One of the reasons it is awesome, is that it's been teased before hand that the only reason the clan even still existed was because Toji decided not to destroy it. We hear from multiple zenin that Toji could have easily wiped them out. And when Maki gains the same power, she instantly can do it, even though she isn't even close to Toji yet and hasn't refined her senses like he did. It also helps that the clan is very very unlikeable.
Fantastic analysis. I appreciate your perspective on this, as it’s also one of my favorite (and a very unique) parts of JJK. Heavily slept on and can’t wait for next season to showcase. I know Maki and Mai are gonna have some extra pizazz to show what’s happening more clearly, since I was a little lost on first read-through.
5:47 one thing about naoya during his introduction, he's technique is forshadowed, its not explictly shown like vs dagon but we see it from yuji and choso's perspectives, naoya froze them both with his technique before he disengaged (second panel you showed where he's saying "hup"), unlike other times when he dashed or attacked, there was no trail or sound effect for his movements, we just cut to choso and yuji missing their punches and being confused before yuji calls it out for being a technique
I think yuki might be talking to tengen given her star plasma vessel status and her later showings of being openly hostile to tengen during the planning for kenjakus arrival
How did kenjaku know mahito would come along and use him to activate the culling games and the acient sorcerers to come back? Or am i missing something
I always assumed Kenny had another plan to activate the ancient sorcerers he created binding vows with but later swapped to mahito as that was just more simple and easy. I doubt he had the cursed spirit of human and technique of the Suguru clan planned out the whole time
0:15 Here take my comment at least, for the algorithm ! I’m a anime only unfortunately but I love the content. Will be coming back to this some day, it will stay in my “watch later” for now :) hope to update this! The comments are saying the editing on this is crazy so I’m sure this will be a treat.
