In His Name
Nhân Danh Chúa
“By what power, or in whose name, have you done this?”
Main Scripture: Acts 4:7-10
New Living Translation
7 They brought in the two disciples and demanded, “By what power, or in whose name, have you done this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of our people, 9 are we being questioned today because we’ve done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed? 10 Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,[a] the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.
1. Boldness for Christ comes from knowing the truth yourself.
a. You can’t be bold for Christ on someone else’s experience.
b. You won’t testify about God until you’ve experienced His Goodness yourself.
c. You won’t every be questioned about Christ if you’re not doing anything to glorify His name.
2. Partnering with Christ
Matthew 12:28-32
New Living Translation
28 But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. 29 For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger-someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.
30 “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.
31 “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven-except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.
• Our Authority is only through Christ
• We can only perform miracles through Him
• If you feel powerless or not able to do things for Christ, ask yourself. By who’s authority have you been trying to do it in.
We can’t do it on our own.
3. Unity with the Holy Spirit
Matthew 12:31-32
31 “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven-except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.
• Jesus Shows us the importance of being united with the Holy Spirit. Even Jesus, holds the importance of the Holy Spirit.
• The Holy Spirit needs to be important in your life.
o I hope you understand that this isn’t something I am saying because I have a relationship with the HOLY Spirit. But this is something JESUS Himself SAYS.
