However was not highlighted at the time was they did away with maternity units like in Wick requiring expectant mothers to travel 120 miles plus to Inverness in an Ambulance. In one case a mother had twins 55 miles apart on the A9. As I understand it from the enquiry it was the mothers fault. It was her first pregnancy for goodness sake.
