Thick for sure! But to paraphrase Upton Sinclair: “ it is hard to get someone to understand something, when their salary depends on them not understanding it.
Hartless-Brewer knows that her arguments are false and don't stand up to scrutiny; but if you say something often enough some people will believe it. That's why she keeps on recycling her discredited claptrap. She's not stupid, she's just heartless.
It's so annoying and just plain rude. I hate it when people do this and you do see it a lot with right wing commentators and politicians. Let him finish a damn sentence! And these same people will moan about cancel culture and not being able to speak their 'truth'.
That's why one of the best at debating/being interviewed by right-winger is the American politician Pete Buttegieg. He regularly goes on FOX News and owns them in their home turf, by just not letting them get away with trying to talk over him. He ignores them, doesn't take the bait, and just keeps making his point. He doesn't stop when they interrupt and just continues speaking, not giving them a gap and not falling for their misdirects. Mick Lynch is also good at doing that, although he also has the advantage that he comes across as a 'hard man' so he intimidates them.
The fact she has to argue the point while her guest is speaking just demonstrates how little confidence she actually has in what she’s saying. She knows she can’t rebut what he’s saying, so she shouts over him to prevent her audience hearing it.
Me at well was out last week with friends and the things he said was disgusting he wood put them in a mosque and set fire to it I now have turned my back on him the evel asterd 😮😮
I’m sick of funding illegal, note the word illegal immigrants. That doesn’t make me racist, it makes me sick of knocking my pan in day in day out to fund them that’s all.
@@ImBABYJANEHUDSONthey left Canada, the US, New Zealand and Australia? Those notoriously run & mostly populated by the native pre colonisation population countries…..
She is right, why is she wrong people are concerned what is happening in this country at the end of the day they came here Illegally they should not be here full stop.
Why didn’t he say "You've asked me a question. Have the courtesy to shut up and listen to the answer " All she was doing was ranting over him, doing herself no favours in the process
The right always say they want a proper conversation on Immigration When they get the chance they interrupt , talk over any point of view they disagree with and just say the same things 1 - it’s all Men 2 -they are in a safe country (anywhere else in the EU) I don’t want immigrants in my country isn’t a conversation it’s a statement
But what's the point of a conversation with people who talk rubbish? None of the men crossing in dinghies meets the criteria of refugee status. End of conversation.
Brewer doesn't seem to understand we are NOT in the EU and the EU have NO right to stop them anymore than we would be legally able to stop someone stopping off on their way to America from Australia. How STUPID can you be?
She talks for the people who were raging 3 weeks ago and have now gone peculiarly quiet and are trying to downplay their rhetoric, realising they’re not the silent majority they thought they were
Ex Daily Express journo doing right wing telly. Simplistic ideas for people who don't like to think. Always very pleased with herself. She adds zilch to public debate fully paid up member of Mike Grahams Republic.
One advantage of having 'safe and legal' routes is that anyone then coming via other routes will in all probability not be granted asylum. They can be rounded up as soon as possible after they reach our waters, processed quickly and deported. Just as was the case with the recent disturbances, the increased probability of being caught, along with speedy justice, make the most effective deterrents. As for fixing the problem, which in my eyes is not getting someone else to take them, but making them 'happy' enough in their own country so they stay there. This, unfortunately, usually requires foreign aid. However, I have heard it said, that it is cheaper to keep someone in their own country than it is to take them in as asylum seekers and process them. It is suggested that even after the misappropriation of much of that aid, the financials are still positive. Now I do not have the figures to prove or disprove that statement, a statement I hope to be true, but I strongly believe that we should have a serious and open conversation about that as it will be based on facts, some of them uncomfortable ones, rather than ideology rooted falsehoods. Ideology and bigotry must be replaced with pragmatism, even if that pragmatism leaves a nasty taste behind.
Except we need them to build and maintain the infrastructure and supply the shortfall of doctors, nurses, care workers, tradesmen etc. - even crop pickers. Do you see much of that going on without them? They would also be paying taxes which is what is needed in order to afford to fund the infrastructure.
Why ask a question whose answer is obvious? It's clear they don't want anyone going to their country, except maybe trillionaires and people with 40 Nobel Prizes. And... I mean... their country, their rules. What bothers about about their whole approach is they keep blaming Europeans for their problems, be it those of us outside of the UK or our fellow Europeans living in the UK.
She tells people to come and explain something and then doesn't listen anything, the young fit males come first because they are the ones who are fit 'to work,'. As Max says, people (including experts) have been explaining this to her for years.
Your point at around 5.00 is the crux of the whole issue, Max. Britain has a labour shortage. Unless women in this country are going to miraculously start giving birth to fully formed and qualified 18-year-olds during the next year, we are going to have a labour- and a skills-shortage for some time. We need immigration in order to plug those shortages. Without them, prices go up. Dramatically. Too many people just listen to what the populists spout and take it at face value. And her desperate attempt to get the Labour official to give a number of immigrants shows she's not got a credible argument left. But she will continue to shout over him. Because that's what Hartley-Brewer and many other mouthpieces like her do
I love the way she profers her answer to the question she has just asked when she doesn't like what he's saying, then she asks another question to completely muddy the water!! 🤯
