In addition to not thanking Tony Hale, I also love how she physically struggled to thank Tim Simons- the actor who plays Jonah. It was all so perfectly in character!
@authorization batman I think they just meant that him being invited up on the stage during someone else's acceptance speech is a big thank you in itself.
lol dude i would hope ur joking. Of course it was planned and I cant believe you even thought it may not be. Anyway it doesn't matter cause it's hysterical.
I remember watching her giving an interview and saying that they planned it moments before on that very same day, just in case she won. It was all Julia’s idea!😂
@@PiyushK882 best case scenario for buster bluths life would be Gary the bag man. I don’t think Buster was going to make it far with the whole topography degree
Completely agree. I remember watching Arrested Development thinking, "He'll never have a part as funny as Buster." Then Veep came along, and I happily realized just how wrong I was. The entire cast is fantastic.
Best show ever! Caught Amy's usual fuck-off-I'm-on-the-phone look, too, lol! I wish Jonah stood up and did his frat-douche routine, then it would have been perfect.
I love that every time she wins, Julia does something like this as though just wants to make sure everyone knows exactly why she will be taking home as many of those gold statues as she wants
Admittedly I am only 66 years old but this is the first time that an ACTRESS has made me consistently laugh continuously thru' episode after episode and series after series VEEP. Also it is only the 4th USA Series that I have loved so it's 4th Married With Children and maybe joint 1st the 144 episodes of Bilko with the genius that was the Jewish: Phil Silvers and CYE with the Jewish Genius that IS : Larry David and now the wondrous Jewish Lady:Julia with my favourite USA Writer being: Neil Simon and favourite Comedian being Groucho Marx, both, needless to say, Jewish. Extraordinarily talented people and I am NOT Jewish...
There have been very few Women, over the (now) 67 years that I have found funny but she is an amazing talent and I still watch random VEEP episodes most nights. As for The Jewish point you made,I, literally,do not understand what you meant as you gain the impression that I can't relate to Jewish people but I said the complete opposite as I DID say that , virtually,ALL the people I have found funny whether be a Writer like Neil Simon or comedians like Phil Silvers, Groucho and Larry David ARE Jewish and I was demonstrating that I was not biased as I am not Jewish myself:)
@@TSV805 I think they’re just speaking the Old Tongue. Dear @Isleofskye Thank you for sharing in our customs, oh wise one! We appreciate your friendship to the women and, of course, the Israelite Diaspora. Go in peace 🙏🏽
The great thing about this skit was that Tony Hale had actually won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy earlier that evening, it showed why he won!
I love this classy lady. What makes me more endearing of her acting and career, is that having Tony by her side was a manner, I would say, of paying him homage due to his brilliant acting besides her. The timing couldn't be more right, obviously, but it was definitely a gesture to share the stage and the spits with him, who's an amazing performer.
I mean, I haven’t watched it, but it’s not too difficult to get what’s going on. As other comment was saying, it was a truly intelligent way to show the world why she deserved to win. And it surely made me want to watch the sow ASAP
I agree with Danna. ;D If you've watched Julia, you KNOW it's a hit outta the park. This, and her Mark Twain speech. Forever in our muthafkn hearts. ❤️
The Emmy’s were never funnier than the years when Julia Louis Dreyfus, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were all constantly getting nominated together and they would do bits together or separate. Queens of comedy along with Melissa McCarthy.
I loved the bit two years prior to this, when Amy, Tina, Melissa, Martha Plimpton, Edie Faldo and Laura Linney all went onstage as their names were read and joined hands beauty pageant-style 😂 Then when Melissa won, in addition to the Emmy, she received a tiara and bouquet of roses. Another great one was Julia and Amy switching speeches and of course the skit where Julia doesn’t remember that she kissed Bryan Cranston on Seinfeld and when she won he kissed her 😂
This is fucking brilliant😂 Love these unexpected bits more than any genius monologue by the host. JLD is a legend and I love how some nominees get the joke and others are like what? Lol!
I didn't watch Veep so I was a little confused at first, but when Tony stood behind her with her bag, I knew exactly what was about to go down...pure gold.
wow this is absolutely fucking hysterical. i mean tonys bag man gig is incredible but its the shot of anna chlumsky on her phone that really just kills me. all its missing is like, an audio/visual error caused by sam richardson. or maybe matt walsh telling the crowd that julia isnt taking any questions after her speech.
this clip was posted on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, and I had never seen this show but I loved the commitment to the bit they were doing! Got me into watching veep and I love it:)
This is the best thing. It could've only been better if the whole staff would have went up there with her and started acting along with Tony Hale. Also, this is a really great way of showing the world in real time why you truly deserved winning your award, genius improv.
@@Isleofskye i have 340 likes for my comment and I believe you're like Jonah: croissant dildo who doesn't do the job and makes a fucking mess, so get the hell out of here, pig
VEEP is in top 10 fav list, i randomly watched one eps could not stop myself, binge watched all season in 4 days. Great comedy, characters, acting.. so on Prolly one of the most underrated sitcoms!
I've actually viewed this over the years and it still is a comedy favorite. Unbelievable comedic acceptance speech. She and Tony Hale were comic gold together. Look how genius the two of them were together.
