For his detractors, Assange is a spy and traitor who deserves his fate. For his supporters, the extradition request is a serious and unprecedented attack on the freedom of information, protected by the First Amendment.
The blatant irony of our own political/ military position of alleged concern over the lives of Iraqie collaborators put at risk...(?) What was brought to light was their total indifference to the lives of innocent civilians with the unleashing of horrific weaponry onto them from kill-happy individuals in their country posing as 'liberators'... What they obviously couldn't abide was being exposed for having done so, and the implications in the eyes of the world. What we know now, is that the Bush regime was corrupt and as subsequent politicians also became by supporting a coverstory of disclosure as espionage instead of disclosure as evidence of 'war crimes'
