Absolutely!!! The US has a dark history which is not mentioned in history books. There is a myth that George Washington was this great man. However, he was a slave owner and the wealthiest man in the world. Also, this idea that we need to worship/idolize these Presidents is just ridiculous. I am glad that Chris mentioned Thomas Paine. The history books do not mention him as much as Paul Revere.. They like to claim that Paul Revere was the key figure for the American Revolution. Not true. This is a myth. Thomas Paine was the real revolutionary.

They did. But then they called them “radical marxists” and then dropped them off. A lot of Americans are allergic to learning about their own history except the propaganda fed to us by the owner class. The evidence is in the obvious amount of fantasy about about America that is consumed by the average citizen. Try this experiment: Ask anybody in your circle of friends or family how many Americans lost their lives fighting in WWII. Ask them now how many dead did the Soviet Union had during the same conflict? See what they say. Ask them then why we never mention the Soviet Union as an ally of the US during WWII. I taught a 20th century American History class in Baltimore to inner city kids, many of them immigrants from everywhere (Africa, Central America, Asia, Haiti, etc), so they are torn between the idea of America as a shining city on the hill and the shitty reality of it. I started the course showing then a photographic essay from the soldiers themselves. These kids sat during the whole thing and didn’t say a peep. Then they started to ask questions. Suffice to say that for 4 weeks these kids came to class eager to learn more and more. We didn’t look at the textbook once. I had to ditch that bitch from the start because all it says is propaganda. That made the course amazing.

We can all get ourselves onto those panels as “residents of the community”, so we can sit right next to administrators and superintendents with equal demands from the community they serve! #forcethetruths

The music is sooo irritating! I don't want to hear a bloody song, I want to hear Chris speak! Fortunately, he's very popular with independent media. 👍

Jordan Peterson’s thing about leftists is a trope really that you hear a lot on “conservative” talk radio. But it’s mirror arguing really cause they’re pointing out what IS happening or what has indeed happened, but it’s the neoliberal elite and that ideology that has taken over academia. But there is an authenticity that comes from speaking in this way because people can see that it’s Not balanced or fair in academia, but they don’t know exactly how it is unbalanced or unfair in the representation or materials being taught. I believe that Steve keen had his economics department shut down in Australia for his views on Chicago economics and neoliberalism. And no economics department in the US according to Richard Wolff and Noam Chomsky teaches Marx or Adam Smith to business and economics students. They’re always taught one fringe brand of economic theory from the 1970s which has been largely disproven at this point.

Sane economics in the seventies knew the Chicago School was a bunch of hogwash.

They still haven’t debunked the LTV they just stramanned it and replaced it with a theory that has less explanatory power.

I’ve always thought this to be the precise explanation for these alt-right figures; their critique makes almost intuitive sense to so many people but their grievances are led by charlatans like Peterson in the totally wrong direction. What you’re railing against is the neoliberal cooption of identity politics exemplified by the Democratic Party’s ‘intersectional’ approach to imperialism, which is, indeed, a truly loathsome phenomenon. If this distinction was more commonly recognised and the right stopped conflating the phenomenon with ‘cultural Marxism’ and SJW bullshit that might actually lay the grounds for an unprecedented level of solidarity and pose a legitimate threat.
