Once they revamp the national final. Their current system supports heavy ballads, since it has live orchestra in it. Power ballads abuse it, giving Albania power ballads since Aurela Gace in 2011. And the only times this strategy was successful was in 2012, when it was really emotional song, and in 2015, when the writer of actual winner didn't agree to go to Eurovision for some reasons, so Elhaida Dani had to come up with another song.
While I do agree that Aurela deserved much higher spot (Heck, I love Feel the passion), Albania had a downfall ever since then. Except for 2012, the ballads never work for them. Mostly because the national final supports heavy power ballads, instead of catchy songs like this one. Also they tend to revamp the songs. Suus wasn't revamped, or changed. It was sung in Albanian. But all other songs did get a revamp. Except for 2015, where there was complete change of the song (Which was pretty good cause the original ballad was going to nowhere). Some of the songs, could get much higher, if they didn't revamp them. Fairytale in 2016 for example. The revamp killed the song. English lanugage didn't work that well, and the instrumental was pretty weak.
This is so true. Albania doesn't realize the last time it didn't revamp a song it came 5th (their best result), I'm not sure if its the broadcaster or the composers who are revamping the songs but Fairytale and One Night's Anger sounded much better in Albanian. Albania needs to learn from Moldova 2013 who revamped their song from English to Romanian, and rocketed it up to 11th place.
Albania is always a underdog country, underrated in 2008, 2009 and 2010. But it got a top 5 in 2012, which i means it has potential to win. Anyways, this deserved a place in the top 10.

This deserved Top 10. We deliver good songs but nobody appreciates them. Qualifying to the final 3 consecutive times 2008-2009-2010 was a huge success to be honest.
robert buick If you count the public votes in the final you will see we are in top 12 or top 10. Our entry in 2009 was placed 11th by public votes. Our entry in 2015 was placed 9th. And at the end we end up being 16th or 17th. All thanks to the idiotic juries
