Spelling Bee is a show where they have "Guest spellers" where people who aren't in the show will come up and spell words. The night was children's night, which a lot of shows do to promote parents bringing their kids to the show and Julie Andrews is an ambassador, so they asked her and her daughter to be the guest spellers for the night.
