Awesome! Love the small 1911 and Ive learned a few things carrying these little 1911s some good and some bad. First the bad being I dont care for an aluminum type feed ramp on these guns which I know for sure the Colt Defender has but on this S&W gun im not sure if it does. I prefer at least a steel feed ramp like a steel ramped barrel or better yet like Ruger did and put a titanium feed ramp in. Maybe someone can answer that and tell me what kind of feed ramp this gun has? I dont care for the ambi safety much either on a gun thats concealed carried. It is just another thing hanging off the gun that can get snagged on clothing and put the gun from safe to fire which Ive noticed has happened with these guns on my hip. Some very good things I see is the external extractor on this gun. Thats a great thing! I wish they would make this gun in a stainless finish with the S&W stainless type painted frame. Would look top notch!
I know this is an ancient comment but to answer your questions.. -It's a scandium frame with the feedramp built in, no insert (I have the .45 ACP version though). -Ambi safety is an option, mine didn't come with one. -It uses the Schwartz safety. It's something you usually don't hear about and it surprised me. Not a deal breaker for me but others might disagree. ✌️ ✌️
Smith and Wesson don't care about it's fans. I tried to buy a decal out of a guy that used to sell them on Ebay he said he couldn't sell them no more because Smith and Wesson reported him to ebay for selling them for $2 his item was suspended also. What a shame.
It is not a light carry gun by any means, the loaded gun weighs 57 ounces, what are you talking about? The rated weight of the empty gun on your web site is stated as 50 ounces!!!
I messaged them over a week ago telling them the weight specs were wrong on the website and it’s still not fixed. Whoever runs the website needs fired. It’s always been hard to navigate and the search filters, lack of photos, incorrect specs/numbers and the list goes on. Midwayusa does a better job than smith does with their own products. The gun weighs around 26 ounces unloaded.
When will you stop putting CAUTION labels on your gun frames? We know it can go boom. It looks terrible on a $1500 firearm. Leave it in the manual where it belongs. I would like this gun and the E series 45 but all is see is that dang ugly white text. Make some changes people. YOU know it’s ugly because you never even showed the left side of the gun the whole video.
