Julio caught 3 passes on 5 targets against Richard Sherman for 40 yards. Julio finished with 139 yards and a TD (40 yards and 0 TDs vs Sherman). Who won the matchup?
sherm won this one, out of 27 matcups sherm was playing very good press d not allowing julio to get the ball, but if you wanna talk regualar stats then i'd see why u choose julio
@@NahomeBruk this is not a win for Sherman by any means. I understand what you’re saying, but playing good D on plays where the ball isn’t even thrown Julio’s way are only minor victories. When the ball did come his way they were completions, aside from the one horrible drop he had, and the blatant PI by Richard Sherman after he got beat badly. It’s easy for it to look like you have someone locked up when the ball isn’t coming their way, it’s a different thing when that ball goes up. I’m sure Richard Sherman’s defense prevented Matt Ryan from throwing his direction a few times, which I definitely praise, but I’m just as sure that there were plenty of plays where another receiver was just the main target, causing the ball not to be thrown to Julio, rather than it just being because of Sherman’s coverage.
From what we r being shown he definitely was winning these routes not all ofc but Sherman did get away with dat PI now I say it was little bit of a tie but Im leaning more towards Julio but they both played good so
Watching this makes me miss LOB and just dominate defenses in the NFL. Dominate in not just Stats and analytics but watching them play tough, hard nose football
Sherman is clearly not a man corner, he’s too slow for it so ofc he’s not gonna be a revis/deon type of corner, he’s a bigger, stronger corner which makes him a one of a kind player
@@princescille4569 3 for 5, one was just a terrible drop by Julio but he was wide open, the other was a blatant PI and Richard Sherman got murdered, are you really gonna credit Sherman with the incompletion there? That’s a play that was won by Julio if you ask me
@@FlyHenryFly what about all the other times he didnt throw the ball to jones because he was to well covered by sherman? All of those are a point for sherman my friend, so as a fellow said it already: sherman won by a mile
AB had top 10 QB of all time and Julio put his team on his back. The only person who I think had a better prime is megatron who also had nobody but still set single season record for receiving yards
Julio clearly wins this match up not only did Sherman not follow him all game julio cooked the entire game and was getting doubled too not even to mention the pi that should’ve been called at the end
I like Richard Sherman but he better be glad Julio tripped on that pass across the middle because he was gonna run straight through him, I would be really surprised if he managed to make that tackle on his own with how physical Julio Jones plays.
The problem is that people look at the whole video instead of what the title is saying(if that makes since). ON SHERMAN Julio did not win, but as a whole Julio did okay.
All sherm matchups hard to judge bc even when he locks up his assignments, since he doesn't shadow they can still have great games. This a 50/50 for me.
Dawg Julio pushed Richard Sherman aside like a baby on that last play. I can’t believe Julio dropped that pass that led to an interception though, that’s just on him. And you can almost blame the loss on that play.
@@christiansoldier77 CBs fall off quick, by year 6 (age 28ish) they start to slip, just a little. You could say he was still in his prime in 2016. But his best of his best years where 2013 and 2014.
@@17mjankowski it is true and it is basically what you said. He was 28 and in his 6th year so that means he only had a two or three prime because he couldn't be in his prime the first year or two and you said he wasn't in his prime in the sixth then that only leaves 3 years for his prime . Do the math lol 🤣
The secret to Seattle's success was they never got called for big penalties on their defense whenever they played at home. Thats why it was so hard to win there.
People really don’t understand the video is Julio vs Sherman not Julio vs McCray (backup safety) or Julio vs Shead (safety converted to CB) Julio tore the field up on mismatches but against Sherman, nah Sherm won that matchup
No he didn’t whenever Julio knew they were throwing the ball to him he killed Sherman on every route and there was a lot of holding calls that could’ve been called on Sherman but they didn’t
@@jevontewashington7409 exactly, Richard Sherman was out there getting turned around and everything. This is not a win for Sherman. Richard Sherman was about to cost them the game if anything on the last route, he had to resort to PI after getting beat so badly. I hate to say though that I do believe Julio cost them that game with the drop he had that turned into an int. He’s gotta make that catch, I mean he was wide open again, with none other than Richard Sherman guarding him
@@Samuel-ru1jb well ryan not gone throw him the ball everytime, that entire offense didn’t revolve around just julio lmao, but guarantee you julio coulda gotten lot more than just 5 targets and 3 receptions when sherm was on him, as u can see clips of when they lined up against each other but he didnt get the ball. Julio won this matchup not by a lot tho, but targets can be misleading at times when determining who won a matchup between a WR and DB
Honestly it's crazy to notice little things like that. Originally I thought they should've called PI, I mean it technically was, but he only was able to get space from Sherman by grabbing his facemask so yeah, I agree.
