Ahh Yellowstone. On my last visit the park ranger warned me to pull to the side when the random braking starts to stare at buffalo or whatever. Apparently a number of bikers get hit from the rear as people squirrel to see what the cars in front are looking at.
So many people, so much traffic and all of the wild life I saw roaming wild in the Yukon without thousands of people around. I'm glad to have gone to see It once.
Yellowstone is a really nice area, its not just all stinking pools as it has a lot of other features as well as a very important deep earth geothermal past and no doubt future on the world front ( perhaps even ending us all when it blows next time ). Its not the park in my mind that is the issue as far as exploring it, its the insane amount of people and how some people just make it all the worse by how they stop right on the road and jump out to do a selfie with a buffalo, there are a few really stupid people that go to the national parks and some of them get gored for good reason in Yellowstone. Same issue in Jasper and Banff parks with similar people who come from certain places and backgrounds. On another topic, I really wished you would have taken the highway out the north east corner of Yellowstone over the Bear Tooth pass.
Thanks for sharing. I'm sure if I had setup camp for a few days and done some hiking in the area, I would have found a deeper appreciation for the park. It seems like most crowds just do the big loop and never go deeper into the forest.
@@AdamChandler86 Thats right, that "circle" ( its like the circle of death on a computer screen ) is just horrendous for crowds and road congestion but the problem is one has to drive that to get access to the other areas LOL. I see you were impressed as well with what I call the "hourly pisser", That was almost 20 years ago when I was standing there ( I had been there as a kid in the 1970's, was way better back then for less people ) and I was joking to those around me about how the park personnel in the back room will now turn on the pump for the geyser as he counts down on his watch that was set late ...
Yeah, that's not the best season to hit Yellowstone on a bike - you also stayed on the main roads, which is a shitshow in the summer. YNP is great, but like comedy, it's all timing.
Now I know but I’m glad to have went despite my surprise. I didn’t do much research but it seems national parks are more popular than ever which isn’t a bad thing.
