It seems that late May and or August are the months to undertake this ride regarding less bugs. Staying within the dates the ferries operate. 2024 was a bad year as 4 riders Airlifted (I am told) and a lot of adverse weather and fires which closed the Dempster for a day or two. My ride this year was cancelled due to work commitments but 2025 , roll on.
If you are not worried about AI then why post a video of all the AI booby traps? Personally, I'm increasingly careful of what I post, self censoring, and am being more selective about what media I consume.

Excellent video! I have a 2021 model with the same engine, and this was incredibly helpful. I was able to perform all the maintenance myself and feel confident that the job was done right. Thank you for sharing! :)
I run k-60s on the back . Dunlop missions on the front . ( 1190 r) we ride primarily gravel roads and pavement . Love the k60 for wear , but it is like riding on marbles in gravel. The mission in front doesn't seem horrible . Both tires on blacktop are fantastic .
Hello Adam! Good video you have on your site. I’m on my way to order Vstream. But I did se that you probably have a wind deflector over the head light under the wind screen. Is that right. I would like to get something that take away the wind that’s comes under the wind screen. I did se that you had a black one on your older bike from Touratech. But I can’t find it any wear. Best regards Henrik from Sweden.
This is ridiculous. This is my 2nd time fixing this problem 2 times in 4 years. The guy before me said that he did it once right before I bought it... geez
Good news, I did pass my exam! I have not modified the pistol yet but I did just get the GS rental confirmation and flight confirmation today for Dubai so it's happening!! WOOOHOOO.
Oh and for people who are like me and watch RU-vid videos on their AppleTV, you can install apps.apple.com/us/app/swizzvpn-vpn-from-switzerland/id1660167141 and (this is not an ad) but hop on to Albania and you won't have RU-vid ads. Take money from me!!!!
Just wanted to say a quick thank you for the vid. My START/STOP was playing up, grabbed a cheap replacement off eBay and had this fixed in no time with the help of your video. My button came with the silver clips which was handy, as the stock ones pinged off into oblivion too when removing. Knowing NOT to pull the outer trim up was a life saver as that was my gut instinct too. The centre piece around the gear stick comes out easily, and once you release the cable clip from the button (a little fiddly to feel for but easy enough) it pops out easily. Took about 10 minutes 💪 Thanks again!
Hi Adam! I know this is an old video but I do really love your rear crash bars around the exhaust. Could you tell me where did you get it? I'm trying to find something similar but I couldn't find it. Thanks! :)
That Moisturizer WAS a good deal but I honestly didn’t think my face could sell moisturizer if I did feature it. In fact, people would see my face (or hands) and pick another product, LOL!
Adam, thanks for showing us the details of your pack. Can you give some context as to why you chose the Garmin Inreach Messenger and which plan you use? Also, could your iphone replace the Garmin now that it has satellite coms? We have similar use cases and I would like to know how you use it and if it meets your expectations.
Hi Walter, InReach had a shake-up today with new products & new plans so I haven't quite explored what the changes are yet (assuming you knew that already) but I've been using InReach devices for 8 years for safety primarily but also to have bread crumbs for later crunching of how many miles I went and areas I visited but needed to remember where I want or what trails I found. My wife uses it because she'll wake up before me, check my location and roughly knows where I want to go that day and send me an InReach message with coordinates of fun road side attractions and where I should stop for food & gas. On this trip, I was without cell service for 4 days so having that device was huge for family and friends to know I was still moving. ------ InReach has many advantages over the phone. 25 days of battery and it lives in my tank bag dutifully uploading the location every 10 minutes without any setting or pointing it in a certain direction. It just works passively where the iPhone location tracking is more active and engaged (directional and requires triggering the location sharing manually). The InReach messaging is also faster and more reliable. it also includes for a small face, a search & rescue service that I believe is superior to Apple (Global Rescue) with $250,000 in coverage. Like why I have a dedicated GPS and a dedicated camera and dedicated laptop, I think the smartphone is great like a multi-function printer is great but when I need to rely on something, I'd much rather have a dedicated device because it'll be superior to a phone even if it costs a bit more.
You should watch a four month review by 'Soaring Videos ' titled '2022 GM AT4 v 2024 Cybertruck...'. He saves so much money that the Cybertruck is virtually free.
Can it fit two full size motorcycles in the back? Is the GMC at 3L diesel that gets 30MPGs with a 1000 mile range? Is the cybertruck financed at 0% interest instead of today’s 6% rate?
Hello Adam, I also installed Jeff's mask and am completely satisfied with it. I tried to sell these in Germany. Unfortunately, this is not that easy because we have manufacturers here who offer a carbon tower with a lifetime guarantee for a little more. Now I saw that Jeff's site is down. What happened? I wanted to see what kind of headlights you installed. The ones from Hella have a CE mark, but unfortunately they are not bright enough. What have you installed? Greetings Jens
Hi, I spoke to him just last month and he said he was up and running after a brief hiatus (first vacation in a couple of years) it has to be a technical glitch because as of august, he was doing well and didn't say anything about shutting down. I'd DM him on ADVrider or reply to the Manic ADV thread and check on him. His email probably doesn't work if the website is down. that's super weird. My headlights are basically gen one in that Jeff did not have a headlight option at the time so he recommended I buy a pair of Baja Designs lights (one XL and one Pro) and he'd put them into the fairing and wire them up for me. He later added DOT legal and Hella lights but those weren't available in 2021 when I had my kit installed. Here's a video of a night ride with them installed - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dRVDyY8lDQY.html
They'll sell them for $72K next year after rebate, not the three motor beast you drove. You aren't aware of rear seats folding up I assume and you have the frunk for some smaller storage. But they designed it to fit into garages so have kept it pretty tight while still giving you a big bed and cabin. Won't work for long haul w a load or bigger truck needs.
good to know. I saw a video of someone with my big and the front beak cleared it okay so that's no longer an issue. Now to find a video with 2 of them side by side.
Hi Adam, I just found this video series and am thoroughly enjoying it. A question though, how is your helmet camera mounted? I'm curious how the helmet keeps coming in and out of view. It almost seems like the camera is mounted on your shoulder? Thanks.
Hi Mark, I have a GoPro Hero 12 Black mounted to the left side of my Shoei but I have "horizon lock" and "Max Stabilization" enabled and a "lens mod 2.0" which what it does is samples at 170 degrees field of view and then the Camera in real time shoots 5.7K resolution but then finds the 4K part of the resolution to sample from effectively making it insanely stable. So if I move my head 2-3 inches to the left and then back to the right, the camera won't jitter or track if perfectly. To the viewer, you may see a slight head move but not 2-3 inches of move. I have to look left 3 inches and hold it there for the camera's field of view to track left after a few seconds of holding it there. so day to day, very smooth and slight inconvenience to point the camera to what I want to show you all. Maybe I need to do a video on it? It's not a complicated setup but it makes the video really smooth.
@@AdamChandler86 Thanks for the prompt reply. Now i get it. For all the complaining you hear about GoPro these days, they really are the king of the hill.
I appreciate you watching. I’m just trying something new. 6 videos total in the series as a way to still get some riding content out there but also add something a little different.
Ya know, I NEVER comment on youtube videos...and this video isn't even over yet...but Damn...Good for you. I have a B.S In philosophy and I agree, very few people want t o have discussions about anything deeper than the surface.
Good morning, as someone who grew up in a trailer and never had the opportunity go attend college or any formal academic study, your comment means the world to me. Thank you for attaching, commenting and sharing.
Hello. First of all I’m sorry for your crash. I own myself a GS 1200 too with a 19 size front wheel. Yours looks like a 17 size front wheel. Which is easier to put inside them corners. However it looks to me that on that corner you are going too fast, you try to bend the bike i the very last second and probably your tyres were not hot enough and therefore you loose grip as you are turning the bike inside the corner in a most aggressive way. That’s what I think after viewing the video several times. And when you crash the best thing to do is check yourself, no broken bones or nothing serious. Then relax and put your heart rate down. The bike is already in the ground and no more harm can happen (unless some really wrong goes on of course). So after you recover yourself and with your heartbeat down, that’s the moment to lift your bike up. Again sorry for the crash and learn from it. Cheers mate !!!!
Not joking: People buy trucks to not use as trucks? Seems like a heavy, expensive, slow and crappy decision to buy something like this and not be hauling things. I very much dislike my truck compared to my golf R or motorcycles but owning this truck is just sort of necessary for my lifestyle. My next car will be a BMW M2 that sits next to the RAM. Daily driver should be a small fun car. The RAM sucks for a daily driver as do most trucks.
I haven’t watched any other reviews, just read a couple when it was first available early this year. My RAM 1500 has these insanely supple soft cow hide seats with a massager, heat, cool (front & back) and we do 20K miles a year in it. It’s the Limited trim. Compared to that, these are not comfortable. More comfortable than what we’ve had in any Volkswagen. Less comfortable than a Ford or RAM limited. Just my opinion. I don’t want sporty seats with bolsters in a truck. I want wide, supple and soft.
I love the ram trucks, but I scratch the hell out of them on those tight Oregon trails. I would definitely stick with the ram if I was towing lo g distance.
This vehicle would be great for family camping trips and weekend trips with camping / activity gear in the back. I think it’d be perfect for that. 2-3 bikes in the back and 1000 mile weekends are going to be tough.
The truck is great. I’ve been deleting a lot of comments from folks with “tesla” in their username because they’re personally offended that this vehicle doesn’t fit my needs. I’m not saying the truck isn’t fine but I have specific needs.
Totally could but my load method has always been riding the bikes up a ramp into the back. In lieu of a reverse gear, that’d be challenging. I will eventually get an enclosed trailer but I love the convenience and range of hauling versus towing. I did find a photo of a GS in a Cybertruck - www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/cybertruck-acting-like-a-truck-wade-mode-while-carrying-bmw-motorcycle.18479/ so it will clear the rear but this bike doesn’t have panniers and is mounted dead center. I’d love to see a GS sideways with the tailgate up and see two GS bikes side by side with luggage (I can do that in my RAM today).
No way, I just bought a loaded Ram Longhorn Limited 3500 dual wheel 4WD, HO Cummings for $90k. The Tesla Cyber Truck is a novelty and the cost is ridiculous.
I have the baby 3L diesel since I didn’t need your kind of payload but I would love the 8 foot bed (mine is the 6.5’). You have a great truck and it’ll last for decades. I’m not sure I’d want to own one of these outside of warranty and I’ve never said that about any truck.
For now, the answer is no for many of the same reasons that I sold my Hyundai Ioniq. I talked a bit bout my issues with Cybertruck on the blog back in January - adamchandler.me/blog/2024/01/11/when-are-the-real-electric-trucks-arriving-and-my-tesla-cybertruck-order/ I am one the few people who LOVE how this truck looks but with a smaller bed, lower range, less storage, no physical buttons, less comfortable seats, less passenger room, questionable build quality, today’s interest rates, the out the door price and the fact I can’t buy an extended warranty just seal the deal. I’d love one but it means selling my truck and every motorcycle towing trip taking twice as long due to range issues. A drive from NC to NH would require at least 5 or 6 stops to fully recharge at 45-90 minutes per stop. Sigh. I’d love one of these but Tesla just missed the mark.
Four times this year, I have driven North Carolina to Vermont with two full size adventure bikes in the back. I leave after work and drive 975 miles and stop just once for gas somewhere in New York State about 150 miles from our home up there. Plus leather seats, heads up display, air suspension with auto-leveling, the bikes are easy to load in the back with a standard shaped bed and there are so many places to store things (pockets, cubbies, glove box, center console, under seat storage, another cubby between the seats and like 15 cup holders). This thing doesn’t even have enough space / layout in the back for me to sleep like the RAM. The rear seats do fold up. I’m waiting for 1000 mile range Electric vehicles that recharge in 15 minutes. I’d gladly by an ICE truck that looked like Cybertruck though. I love the look. I just don’t think it was built to do truck things. And the price is insane!
