JUMANJI: LEVEL ONE - Official Film (2021) 

Honestly, this is a well made prequel that completely explains the entire origin of the cursed game itself.

I felt so very heartbroken for the villagers all they were having was a relaxing peaceful life and we're overrun by random trespassing hunters! The leader made that beautiful board game all hand crafted then had to turn it into a cursed game for his innocence!

Love seeing the classic Van Pelt.

I have always wanted to see how Jumanji was made and how it was cursed. They better make a movie of it.

They should definitely make this into a movie! It was so interesting and I always thought it would be interesting to get a prequel rather than a sequel to Jumanji. So much mystery in the origins of Jumanji and I like how this tries to show it. This looked way better than the sequel video game movies we got.

I like how the shaman describes the game in the beginning: "You pass through the dangerous jungle...until you reach...the city of gold" (2:09). That's how the game is designed in the original book that the franchise is based on, so this seems like a nod to it.

It would be so cool if this premise were developed into a feature length film. I would absolutely watch it.

It certainly would be nice to see a prequel to the origin of Jumanji, and even part of the prequel would even involve Caleb and Benjamin and their involvement in Jumanji before they buried in Branford in 1869, a century before Alan Parrish found it and then the 26 later events with Judy and Peter and it taking all that time for them, especially Alan and Sarah, to finish it before Sarah and Alan would be back at where they started in 1969.

Even if this isn't canon, I think we all agree that it is since no one thought about making the origins of Jumanji, and to dedicate this to her son, I say she's a super mom

I found this by accident and I can't believe why this isn't a super hit? like the hard work of every member on every level shows. Absolutely loved loved loved it and shared it with everyone I know who will watch and love it as well. You guys did an awesome job. The last words that Jumanji himself said before he cursed the game was “From what I gave in kindness I shall forever take in revenge”. What kind of mystical spell did he used to cursed the game? The reason why I ask is because the board game that was seen in “Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle” was transformed into a classic game disc.

Even though this was made mainly for the Anchor. It can be added to the Actual Official Jumanji-verse. Jumanji: Level one (This film 2021) Takes place in 1868 and explains the origins where it was built -Sierra leone Africa- and how the curse was set upon it. Later in the year the 1st finder of the game plays and disappears and the game makes it to his family. In 1869 its played again by his kids and mother. Anyone who plays comes into the game doesn't come out forever or until someone roles a 5 or 8. As the family has an adventure along side with the game they tend to bury it. Jumanji (1995) The Original In the opening the kids of the family leaves the game buried and is found by Alan 100 years later in 1969 in what came to be Brantford, New Hampshire. Alan and his friend soon wife play the game and goes on the same path the Family did with newcomers in the year 1995 Alan and Sarah complete the game and go back to 1969. They get married and meet the kids again that time though with no Jumanji as back in 1969 Alan and Sarah threw the game into a river over a bridge. A year later 1996 the game washes ashore on a beach. Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle (2017) A new Family in a more modern world the father holds the game for his child and the child gets sucked into the once a board game into a video game Jumanji. In 2016 Jumanji is found again and this time brings the players to it's world not the other way. The kids find the missing guy from 1996 they complete the game and the Guy is spat back out to his time and is having a new life in 2016. The kids destroy the game. Jumanji: The next level (2019) Probably a tease to a closer with it's end credit a more real life situation or two are introduced. Spencer fixes jumanji and his friends finds him to bring him back. Their real world problems are solved within the game. The game is then triggered by an AC repair man and it releases it's creatures outside of the game once again just like from 1995 and this film here in 2021. Jumanji(Year unknown) Probably the final film. The game goes back into the board game as it's characters are out in the world trying to uncurse itself before the kids can end Jumanji forever. The kids get everything back in and uncurse it finally destroys permanetly. Everyone that got sucked is spat out dead from how long of age or something from the game if not alive. For not anyone from the 1860's. Caution the last one isn't real it could be a coincidental good plot and could be thought of but probably won't make it to the creators of Jumanji. Edit- Remember although it's not my line to say it's just a theory, A FILM THEORY

This short film was excellent because it sure show me the very beginning of who created the board game by a man name Jumanji himself in 1868 and cursed the game. Especially the folks who actually played it of course. I am really glad I got to see this. It sure goes way back before the time Caleb and Benjamin bury the board game in 1869.

Such a beautiful act, and the work is much bettter than both Jumanji sequels

This is an origin story of Jumanji, I like how it started out as a Shaman who simply made it to be a board game, but when Van Pelt and his thugs raided his village it became a prison. And any who plays the game knows the dangers that lie within it.

This should be part of the Jumanji Franchise and not just a fan made film

ok i stumbled on this and i was not disappointed, would love to see this on the big screen someday, not a huge fan of the new ones but this def brings me back to the 90s and im here for it! Hands down one of the best short films ive ever seen!

Better than the modern remake. Actually as good as the original. People treat Jumanji as adventurous comedy, but it is a freaking horror. And you showed it brilliantly.

I LOVE that this explores the concept of what happens if you *lose* the game Fantastic work, everyone. You all did something very special

I can say the idea and premise of how the it was setup, which is "how Jumanji came to be" would be an EXTREMELY nice way to bring the story line together. You did great finding a way to bring in the hunter, but by also including small bits of your own ideas.

This film should be added to Robin Williams' Jumanji as a prologue! Very well done!

ON A SEPARATE NOTE; MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS MOVIE CONCEPT OF (JUMANJI: LEVEL ONE) I genuinely think this movie concept of (JUMANJI: LEVEL ONE) looked awesome to me, and I am honestly impressed of the people who did great work at creating it.

when i saw the films, from my observation, the game teaches the players lessions, alan couldn't stand up to his father, and was going to run away, the game gave him exactly that, and showed him what would have happened if he actually did, and van pelt had his father's appearance to test him

This is what the modern movies lack. Suspense, fear and a bit of horror. The first movie set out that the game was a evil mockery of a real jungle. The modern movies were just a normal jungle.

LOVED it, thank you so much. Yesterday the 'new' Jumanji came on TV. Hadn't seen it yet so I though I'd give it a try. Didn't really pull me in, didn't make it past the first 20minutes. THIS however, this had me on the edge of my chair, so sad it ended so soon. Thanks to everybody involved for the great short movie. =D Also the message at the end made me tear up. Good movie. "No, Benjamin!" is one of my favorite movie lines. LOLLL I looked it up to see if anyone had done anything about a prequel and was not disappointed. Now I want to know more about Jumanji himself!

Wow! This has to be the BEST short I have EVER SEEN!

I actually imagined a similair headcanon after seeing the animated series. Think about it, among the recuring villains we had Van Pelt (a hunter who'll gleefully hunt anything into extinction), J.H. Slick (a merchant who'll rob you blind), and Dr. Ibsen (a industrialist/scientist who build and invents whithout concern for consequence). In short, the worst vices brought to Africa during the Victorian Era. I imagined that Jumanji's creator was a shaman/witch doctor/whatever the correct term is who was disgusted with the depravations of the white man, created it as a means of retribution, forcing them to endure not only exagerations of the dangers of Africa (vicious animals, deadly plants, hotile tribes, dangerous terrain, etc.), but also hotile characatures of their own vices.

OMG THIS is what i want for jumanji, a bit horror, a bit adventure a bit mistery, with a great lore, this is a masterpiece! (SPOILER) and i love the final idea for the character of Van Pelt who became the father of the kids at the end of this short

Remember in the original movie when Alan Parrish said he'd "seen things you've only seen in your nightmares" when he was trapped in the game? Maybe whatever it was at 10:07 , 12:08 and 16:06 was one of those things. This short is incredible!

I think this is the movie every1 would loved to see in a big production after Jumanji was released 1995 i guess - i was absolutely enthralled watching the first movie - and still today in 2023 its CGI still looks good! ALSO thank you guys for producing the Level One - i am very sure that this is the official origin of the evil board game causing so much havoc in a town!

I enjoy the recent sequels as much as the original film, but I have to admit that this beats both “Welcome to the Jungle” and “The Next Level”. The atmosphere is much darker and gripping, especially seeing how the first two players actually got killed while playing the game.

This is a good low-budget fan-made prequel to the franchise. I wonder if this is the right way of how Jumanji The Game was born in some way

A short film prequel to the movie Jumanji (1995); many years ago, a quiet village somewhere in Africa - before the villagers were killed by Van Pelt (who's responsible for his actions) & his men for their own human hunting 'game'... In the act of the shaman's revenge before his death, the hunters were placed inside a game board forever as a curse for their unforgiven crime. The explorers of the present had found an unusual, but long forgotten game board - not long before they realized something about the game: the more you play it, you will ended up yourself being 'played' as long you follows these gruesome rules... or you will pay the price! The cursed game board, Jumanji is later being passed down to it's more victims... until anyone survives to reach the final goal! A dedicated to the memory of Liam Fairbanks, who tells the viewers about the pilot/short film.

It occurred to me awhile ago that Jumanji was basically a family friendly version of Hellraiser.

WAY BETTER than whatever that thing they recently released which feels more like a fast and furious parody with jumanji slapped on it.

i was looking at imdb for news / updates on j4 and found this ! I have one small gripe about the time line of only one year passing from jumanji making the game/ van pelt's attack and then the other explorers finding it covered in dust to then being locked in a chest in canada, seems a bti short :) other wise really amazing work/ plot acting !

Excellent short film I absolutely love Jumanji staring Robin Williams it’s definitely my favorite Robin Williams movie from 1995 this prequel you created is fantastic I enjoyed it from start to finish the production quality is top notch the cinematography, the writing the acting, the editing, the score, and the direction is terrific I give this short film five stars also do you think it’s possible if you can make a live action adaptation of Extreme Ghostbusters? Now that would be awesome if you can do that.

is so interesting the beginner jumanji and Omg my theory has been refuted; if a person is playing jumanji and he dies, so his symbolic piece falls, I say this because when both explorers died, the gameboard jumanji in the trunk was rebooted ... maybe hehehe XD
