Oh no - dead battery . . . what to do when your chassis battery is completely drained or flat?
This video shows how easy it is to jumpstart a dead battery of a Promaster camper van. [Specifically the Promaster 2500 Hymer Aktiv, but should work for all Promaster based RV's and camper vans, including Roadtrek Zion, Zion SRT, Winnebago Travato, Trend and Pleasure-way Lexor, Tofino and Carado Axion, Banff etc].
I can do it in 2 minutes from start to finish and be on my way.
Because I’m a solo traveler, I keep a battery jump start charger with me (it also is handy for charging other things and as a flashlight if I need it).
There are many of these on the market, just make sure the one you get is strong enough for the engine you have.

Important correction: The first reservoir on the left under windshield wiper fill tube is NOT brake fluid. It is power steering fluid. As stated later in the video, the brake fluid is off to the right.

This is not just an annoyance. Your battery eventually will stop charging as it really really does not like these deep discharges. You may want to check with mechanic to find the source of the parasitic draw and deal with it. It's not that difficult or expensive as you might think.

Thanks Dima, that's a good point. Luckily my issue seems to have resolved itself with the switch out of my radio and now I maintain by driving every couple of days.

Good information but most of the newer promaster Class B vans have a power booster switch on the dashboard to add power from the coach batteries to the engine battery so a jump is very rarely ever needed.

I had a battery problem, too, with my Aktiv. I think it was the stairs. I have to make sure the motor for the steps doesnt keep running when I turn off the car. I lubricated the steps and it hasn't happened again.

Well it happened to me today! With quarantine and everything, I did not start Bella for a couple of weeks and the battery went dead. I was lucky enough to be in front of my house, but nonetheless, did not remember the procedure to boost the battery. I watched your video again and followed the instructions you provided. It worked out great. Thank you for this video. Now my problem is that my check engine light is on. We'll have to find out why that is. The last time the battery went dead a few months ago it was the airbags light that was on. Had to go to the dealer to have them clear some of the codes. I guess low voltage codes get stored from battery failure! Has this happened to you too?

Nice Video, I love the graphic technique! Everyone traveling should have one of those lightweight Lithium Battery jumpers, their are many types read the reviews. I have been told that using the front doors at a campsite uses the Chassis (engine) battery to operate AND over multiple days w/o running the engine could leave you with a dead battery.

I have the same problem (and the same booster). I estimate that the battery will go dead if I let it sit for more than 10-12 days. Any idea where the parasitic drain is coming from?

Andre, my original issue was a radio related one but there does seem to be a fairly common parasitic issue of unknown origin so I just try to drive or start my van every couple of days. The automatic stairs installed on mine uses chassis battery, so I contain them when boon docking. If I was going to leave the van unattended for any length of time I would probably install a solar trickle charger to maintain the battery. In the meanwhile I have my little XP-10 to get me out of trouble. Let us know if you find out any more info on this subject.
