Nobody, I mean NOBODY, knows how much I feel like crying when I hear this song. Hard to believe that this show is over 10 years old and the movie is 13 years old. I feel like a senior citizen, and I'm only 16...
I'm 13, and the last movie came out when I wasn't even a year old, but it's still my favorite disney movie. There are some good ones out there but most of the ones these days can't even compete with this movie, or some older movies.
I paid my final visit to Toys R Us a couple weeks ago and I heard this song come on over the intercom as I was leaving. Aloha can mean hello, but it can also mean goodbye :(
Little known fact, if you listen REAL closely, you can hear the last known recording of the late Thurl Ravenscroft singing the background before his death in 2005.
Wow. Is he a tiki mask repeating Stitch? Because I can't find a credit to him for this song, but I did find a credit to him on his Disney wikia page saying hr voiced tiki masks in Disney Land's enchanted room or something like that.
He's actually both. Though I was referring to around here: 1:59-2:27 It's a bit faint (no surprise considering he was in his early 90's during the recording), but you can hear his trademark bass tone there and during the tiki part beforehand.
I thought so too. and I'm pretty sure we're right. It definitely sounds like they're saying come on by... and it wouldn't be a clever rhyme if it was just a repeated line. Though I think e komo mai is already pidgin english for 'welcome' so..
Imagine if someone started singing this on a Hawaiian Airlines flight or on a United Airlines flight bound for Hawaii. I have a hunch that all the passengers and some of the flight attendants would join in. Bonus points if one of the passengers or flight attendants can speak Hawaiian.
Sans The Skeleton Okay...-.- i get that i typed stitch* wrong but do i have to remember the exact name of the show that i was watching like 10 years ago ? :p thanks tho ^^
”Now you can see, tookie ba waba Nothing but these clear blue skies Love, it has found u, and when it surrounds u, it’s just like paradise” and ”Now that the door has swung wide open Now your heart has taken wing Feel that magic in the air Oh, hear your spirit sing” = awww. Like, you will never hear anything like that anymore!
Started listening to this today out of nowhere and it made me so happy, such a shit time the world is having right now and this brought my spirits up abit, I loved Lilo & Stitch when I was little I stand by it being one of the best things Disney has ever made
OHANA MEANS FAMILY, AND FAMILY MEANS NOBODY GETS LEFT BEHIND, EVER. AND LILO AND STICH SERIES IS MY FAMILY, I WILL NEVER LEAVE IT BEHIND. This show is so old, but i still have a passion for it, I love this show, im still into this song 10 years later.
@Christina Kelly- Actually it is E Komo Mai. I agree, the way they say it it sounds like Come on by, but if you watch the credits for the show they list the song as titled "Aloha, E Komo Mai," which is a traditional Hawaiian greeting that, funny enough, does translate to "come on by." Or rather, I should say, it gets paired with "Nou Ka Hale," and together they make the greeting "Come inside, the house is yours," which is a more formal way of saying "Come on by."
pokedash warrior And listening to Elvis songs as the credits scroll. 'v' Epsilon B I am tempted to pick the female player now and call her Lilo. Guess it's time to round up those experiments again. 9v9
Recuerdo que esto sonaba al final de la película de Stitch y en los créditos habían algunos experimentos que bailaban yo hacia los bailes que hacían XD
