I have to say thanks very much for taking the time to go through the setup for us newbies. this is the first time I have ventured into computerised radio equipment so I and probably many others are grateful that there are people like yourself who are prepared to share their knowledge. thanks
My T18 came in the post today and now I'm ready to start setting up my first model on it. Your Tutorial was exactly what I needed. Thank you very much :0)
Glad to help. I've got a pretty big library of OpenTx tutorials: Beginner Series: ru-vid.com/group/PLy3TC1ILJYTjqDXFB84oXVWZG14zyMYYt Intermediate Series: ru-vid.com/group/PLy3TC1ILJYThzwReZComrM-LFTa2wfiUW That should keep you busy for a while. Have fun with your new radio!
Most helpful video so far. Bought Radioking Tx18s and was able to navigate much better with fewer frustrating mistakes. Now trying to set up Elevons for my liitle flying wing. Will let you if I am sucessful.
Make sure to check out my OpenTx Snippets Playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLy3TC1ILJYTjsMsQ2YF5ZCUubv0IFiWkd Here is a video on mixing elevons: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U0FmXP1VSmc.html
Finally got my elevon setup done using Flysky I6B Rx. Had trouble with sorting out elevator and ailerons. Ailerons would work on elevator stick and elevator would work on aileron stick. Solution finally found by reversing the servos at the receiver. That got everything going in the right direction. Reversing channel direction on the transmitter would put the ailerons on the aileron stick but then the elevators were reversed, up was down and down was up. Got a headache trying to figure it out. Had no trouble setting up throttle arming switch. Next I will set up a plane with dual rates and expo. Wish me luck!
@@RCVideoReviews No worries, Helos are an aquired taste I think, and sadly not as popular as they once were. So you were in the Navy, Nice!! Go you for serving and defending your country👍
Very useful video, be nice to have a recorded copy of it saved somewhere on phone or lap top for future revisits Cause some of us only buy a model once a year or so, and forget how to set up a new model. Your content is the clearest I've come across. Thanks and hello to you from New Zealand
Can you show this tutorial on the tx16s. I think it’s close ,but not spot on as the T18 jumper Great vid. I enjoy all of them so far. Your good at explaining the details in in simplicity. Thanks for your time
I would invite you to visit my beginner playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLy3TC1ILJYTjqDXFB84oXVWZG14zyMYYt and specifically this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Jh7_ZTRSpI.html PS The software setup is exactly the same for both radios. The only difference between the two is hardware layouts. i.e. Jumper has 3 nav buttons, TX16 has 4.
Very well done. Do you can also add an explanation for a tipical DLG configuration Please? I think in this case there are different challenges in order to setup it. Thanks
If I knew anything about flying a DLG I’d help you out but I’ve never flown one so not in a position to offer advice. Sorry. Thanks for watching and for the comment. J
As you know, this really helps me out a lot. I'm glad the J.T-18 lite has voice promps. Does the RM T-16s? I only watched a few of them. I'm sure others will be referring back to this and all of the open TX videos. Thanks. AirHammer out!!
As far as I know all the full size transmitters since Taranis support voice. That’s an OpenTx capability. I’m not sure about the pint size joystick style transmitters.
You know, everything I do on the TX16s radio can be replicated on the Jumper right... They're nearly identical radios hardware wise, and from a software standpoint they are identical.
Followed your instructions and got the Jumper T18 to bind with Aeroscout. Got throtlle cut working as well. Thanks, worked like a charm. How do I set up the safe/beginner mode? Many thanks.
I'm not familiar with Spektrum--never bought one. However; I believe you set it up on Channel 5. So add a 3pos switch to Ch5. There may be more to it than that, but that's about all I know.
Thanks that helped me to be able, finally be able to bind this to a 4 ch Spektrum receiver on my AHI. Now I need to figure how to configure flapperons ....
Hi John, I wonder if you can shed any light on this for me... I have watched most of your Vids on open TX and the TX16s great knowledge you have :) I know how to set up these little Eachine planes but I have found that I can only get them to bind if I check the "low power" button. The problem with this is that they go out of range really quick.. Do you know of a way around this?
@@RCVideoReviews I was hoping you were right but alas not.. I have tried to bind from 10ft away and it just sits there but as soon as I change the power setting to low power it binds. When I try to bind without the LP button checked I can hear a small chirp as if it's bound but it's not. Then when I check the LP button it starts to work. The problem is on LP the range is about 50 yrds... Regards, Pete
Would you be able to tell me if the Jumper T18 Pro will work with the Horizon Hobby Aeroscout S with a Spektrum receiver. Thank you. I am just a newbie and things are being delivered next week.
Firstly, thanks for your videos, very helpful to a newbie such as me. Is there a link to the T18 Lite manual pdf? I can't see one on Jumper's main site.
My understanding is glider pilots put them to use. A glider with four aileron servos for instance, can use a trim switch for the 2nd pair of servos. I haven't found much use for them, outside of using them as momentary switches which is cool because two extra switches give you 4 extra momentary switches.
You can't change the sensitivity of the hardware, but you can change how the hardware emits signal to your receiver by adjusting your weights in inputs, mixes, or outputs.
Useful video but The amount of fiddling and stuff you have to do to setup a simple model or the most basic stuff with these radios is beyond annoying. One of the most anti user friendly products or experiences I have had in the hobby… I got my first opentx radio last month and I find myself coming back to my flysky everytime, simply plug and play, the opposite from these opentx radios
