Over the last few weeks I have been training to become a Jumpmaster for our group in Florida. After completing my final JMPI test and officially becoming a jumpmaster, I had the opportunity to be a jumping jumpmaster for the C47 Tico Belle. An original D-Day aircraft that still has the original anchor line cable that the jumpers from WW2 hooked up to before they jumped into Normandy nearly 80 years ago.
We only had a dozen jumpers so we exited the aircraft in a single pass over the drop zone, and it was a great experience and a great final "test" to put jumpers in the air and show all the skills I have learned over the last few weeks.
I want to thank everyone who helped me along the way, those who instructed me and mentored me through the program and I will be doing my best to live up to the standards and expectations that jumpmasters are held to for years to come.
