Great show as usual, lads. One point how can the hotels drop their prices when they are so reliant on that week. Impossible. Personally, l will not go again. A week cheaper in Tenerife and l can watch all the races in the sun
Totally agree that race planning is NOT the main reason not to attend we have been for 15 years but hotel costs became too expensive that’s why we don’t go now
The other one who I suspect will be aimed at the Ryanair and who like BMG would have a great chance is L'Homme Presse (I think one of you mentioned him). If back to his best after injury (and he ran a blinder for a long way in the GC) then I can see the Ryanair being a perfect race for him. They MAY still fancy GC though as he was undercooked last year so they may give him one more chance
I can see Mystical Power turning up to the Fighting Fifth to assess Constitution Hill’s wellbeing. Agree with Dan on the bumper winner but I’m against Bully. BMG will win the King George after a prep in the Charlie Hall. Nicholls won’t make the same mistake again
Great video lads. Its a shame Jake's P2P recruit is by Getaway as he's not my idea of a top sire. Mum's genes are going to have to be strong in that one.
Cheltenham attendance is down because it is a massive rip off. Reduce ticket prices and on course food and drink prices. And 4 days was always a bad idea driven by greedy profiteers
Brilliant show as ever lads (no surprises there though! ). Some very interesting thoughts and picks. I will however take issue with your BRAVEMANSGAME assessment. For me, it was trainer error last year. Running him in the Betfair Chase was simply stupid. It was obvs due to Betfair stable sponsorship. But he actually ran pretty well all season tbh. Arguably could have won the KG but for being impeded and on ground he'd have hated his GC performance was hardly that bad. What I expect to happen is that he will be targetted at the Ryanair. He clearly has no chance of winning GC and the owner knows that now. However, the Ryanair could be perfect for him, a bold jumping prominent racer who could be really difficult to peg back. 33-1 is an insulting price and is defo worth a cheeky each way bet surely. If he goes Charlie Hall, KG and then Ryanair I can see him winning the last named. Oooh and he's had a wind op too which may help.
The other point I should have made re the Ryanair for BMG and L'Homme Presse is that it is a race which suits horses who stay 3 miles, you pretty much have to have 3 mile stamina to win it so it suits the horses dropping back down in trip. Both these horses stay 3 miles well but also have a bit of speed and are excellent jumpers. I followed this very same formula last year and it landed me on Protektorat at 33-1 ante post (with apologies for dreadful aftertiming 😁)
and you will find changing it to handicap race then more langer dan plot jobs where a good horse is not winning to get a lower mark for a bigger handicap race
