Part of the MSM routine, where the manoeuvre part is broken down into PSL - Position, Speed and Look.
Learn to drive using the MSPSL routine when driving and dealing with junctions.
You'll learn about Open and Closed junctions, the LADA routine, peep and creep and the walk across, drive across rule.

This is exactly how it should be explained to people learning to drive. The instructor needs to take time and explain in detail the multitasking involved in this routine. The timing of each part of the routine is everything. Thank you very much for this video :)

Excellent video Howard showing that sometimes you have to just wait. Too many instructors in the modern era teach wrongly about not making due progress. Examiners will always err on the side of caution over rush I believe

Good video. I started my driving lessons recently, and the Ult.Guide is good revision material! Already doing these turns on my 3rd session, and its difficult to do everything in order so fast, its easily overwhelming. Hearing the instructions out loud is just as fast, my instructor does the same and my brain gets frazzled. But hey, progress is progress and practice makes perfect.

I am going to look forward to my next lesson now after watching this. I end up somehow parking my car in the middle no matter which way I am going, but never thought to follow the curve into the main road like I would going into a minor road like a small street. I would also end up somehow over the right centre line when going left as well, but I will practice trying to line the road up with my left mirrors now. I hope I pass in 2020!

Hi quick question- my driving instructor told me to not use the accelerator when turning and to just use clutch, as soon as I’m turned onto the road I can then of course use the accelerator again. Whereas in this video you said it’s okay to use a little gas when turning? I’m confused as to what’s correct
@How-2-drive
@How-2-drive 3 месяца назад
A tiny bit of gas just to maintain speed, not to increase it. Just adds stability for a super smooth corner. We don’t want to de accelerate as we loose speed through engine braking

@How-2-drive

hybrid angel sounds right to me, people often overtake near junctions, can be very risky if someone emerges. Make sure your speed is low enough in case you had to stop for a pedestrian crossing the road👍🏻 Keep up the good work

why are you positioning before signalling, that's not the order of MSPSL
@How-2-drive
@How-2-drive 4 года назад
Mikaela Prim it is ok to position before a signal. There may be times where there is a junction or parked car before where you intend to turn so the signal should be well timed. There may also be times where a signal is not always necessary, for example a dedicated lane or there is no one to benefit from a signal. Are you familiar with the Roadcraft system IPSGA? Part of the information phase, where we Take, Use Give. This is very similar to MSM
