Never was a fan of hostas until watching your videos over the winter. My husband let me plant under his prized cherry trees, ran out of room quickly after planting 40 hostas. Now I've started a hosta container garden.
I do have a lot of trouble planting hardy hibiscus 🌺 as well....even with winter protection....after trying several times I have given up! Nice to see your survived. Even your creeping Jenny comes back! Awesome!
Thanks for watching. That was an old tour and since then, I have not had much luck getting hardy hibiscus to overwinter. They always die on me no matter what I do. Such a shame since they are such a stunning plant. Yup. The creeping Jenny is taking over which is okay because I dig it up and put it in containers and it does very well
Love your garden , one can see the love and effort you have put in there. I love to garden too and I live in zone 9 so I guess most of the plants that you are growing do not do well in my area.🌸🌺🌷
I just stumbled across your account, and your gardens are so beautiful! Hit the subscribe button instantly! =) Oh, and I think the plant just after the 2 minute mark is bee balm - I'm sure you already figured it out after it bloomed, or perhaps someone else mentioned it at some point in the past 4 years, lol. I have a lot of bee balm and I love it. Just have to stay on top of using 1/2 milk & 1/2 water spray every week or so, to prevent powdery mildew. We get it bad where we live in zone 5b, and this works really well. Ok, off to watch some more! Have a great day and happy gardening!
Hello, the variegated plant in your shade garden, the one that dies to the ground every winter, looks a lot like my Variegated Beauty berry. It dies to the ground every year in Tennessee. I'm no good at sending links, but you might find one on the internet and compare. Love your pretty garden!
I have been trying to get rid of snow on the mountain in one of my garden beds for 25 years...i would suggest not to combine beds since you have control of snow now. TFS
great video. Thanks for no wind noise and for speaking clearly...so many videos are noisy and people do not speak clearly. Thumbs up to you! What zone are you in?
How old are your hostas? They are GORGEOUS. So big and full. I'm trying to figure out if the Hostas I planted last year needed different care than I was giving them or if they just need another season or two to really start getting big.
Thanks for watching. Most of my hostas are at least 5 years old. I have found it usually takes a good 3 years or more for them to fill out. The larger ones take longer
The stand was gotten from 101 market in Otsego, MN. When I go to that nursery I know that it is going to be a long one. So much to look at with all their plants plus the garden art. One of my favorite garden centers in MN.
My newest hostas I ordered from nhhostas.com. They have a huge variety. I don't have deer issues but every now and than I have rabbits eating my hostas.
Mt.Union Honey Farms:,yes, I thought it was bee balm. Susceptible to powdery mildew but worth it. Beautiful and as you say hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, love it.
