I live in San Diego, California and I love watching garden tours from the same time of year around the world. It's so cool to see which plants can grow in different zones and to see some plants I've never heard of before. Keep the updates coming!
Your garden is so pretty. The begonias are beautiful. The whole containers are beautiful. Your colors are so pleasing. Thank you for sharing all you do and the beautiful plants. 🌺
You have good soil, a great ecposure. You are also a good plants woman growing all that seed. Surprise some friends and neighbors with some cut flowers, they will love it. I used to take some to my church but my yard is all shade now.
Thank you for telling us about watering the day lilies. I was wondering why mine didn't look lush. Also, appreciate your telling us about dead heading & staking cosmos. This is the kind of info that is most helpful to me.
Love that Opera Supreme pink planter. Wow! We are redoing our backyard landscaping so I am putting in some Incredible Hydrangeas. Glad to see how pretty yours look! Thanks Susie!
Beautiful! As much as that flood was a nightmare, look at the beauty it produced ❤️. I went on a garden tour of 5 homes yesterday put on by the Horticultural Society, very eye opening when you feel like your not getting anywhere, came home realizing how well my plants are doing. One perennial I really want to start from seed is a Mallow. One home had a huge patch that she says she just shovels out clumps of it and puts it somewhere else. It comes in many colors but she had pink and it stood about 5-6’ high and gave the same effect as Cosmos, just full of blooms! Now I just have to find the seeds, I have found color mixes but after seeing it in pink that’s what I want. I’ll keep looking 🤞 Great video Susie, saw so many plants of yours I want to try. Thank you Brenda🇨🇦ZN4
Dear Suzie - What a beautiful garden. I’m 73 and a first time Gardner. Now that I’ve retired I am trying my hand at it. I would love to know the varieties, if it’s not too much trouble. Thank you.
I always so enjoy looking at your gardens!!! Such beauty at every turn! Could you tell me where you bought the Silene White seed. I did a search and couldn't find that variety anywhere. THanks so much!
Swallowtailgardenseeds.com. I have been getting most my seeds from them for the last 4 years and they have a lot of perennial seeds to pick from also. Thanks for watching
Everything looks SOOO good! I love your color choices. I love your front pots! The begonias are gorgeous! You have me sold on verbena bampton, it’s on my list for next year 😄 And your cucumber harvest is amazing thus far! Enjoy 🌿 (I notice you do not have an address listed or an email like some do, are you open to receiving surprises, like seed pkts or such?)
I am happy with my containers this year. They may be a little simple, but I have a lot of favorites this year. Let me think on the address idea. Thanks for watching
Susie beautiful as usual! Ooohhh. The rose on the swing is a great idea! What variety is the artemisia? Did you grow it from seed? Did you grow the hip hop euphorbia from seed? If so do you know where you got the seeds? Also, curious how does your town spray? Deanna
No. I didn't grow the artemisia from seed. I did try growing euphorbia from seed last year and the fungus gnats killed it. Very delicate and not sure if I will try growing from seed again. I think I got those seeds from swallowtailgardenseeds.com. Not sure what they use for mosquito control but they use a fogger and they spray when it is dark and every other week. Thanks for watching
Wow!!! Just gorgeous! How do you tell the difference between male and female blossoms on cucumbers? My clematis has been done for weeks! How do you keep yours blooming?
The cucumber female blossoms have the fruit on it and males just have flowers and no fruit. Same with zucchini, squash and pumpkins. There are 3 groups of clematis. The clematis that is blooming right now is group 3. They are later blooming and will bloom for a while. Thanks for watching
I was thinking about that, but it takes a long time for them to fill out and in my area the rabbits do a number on them. Hmm. Maybe I will. Doesn't hurt to try. Thanks so much
Lamiastrum. I didn't plant this here. I had bought it at a greenhouse where it was with the annual trailers and had put it in a container. A little piece had rooted and has spread like crazy. This one is hardy to a zone 2. I would not wish this plant on anyone. Thanks for watching.
