Great choices--Page Turners with Katja just did a great video on the Shardlake series if you're curious after the first book. 🤩 And we read Mad Women's Ball for our Patreon book club last year--I hope you enjoy it!
Dissolution is wonderful! Outlander is also very very good. I LOVE Wolf Hall. It’s amazing. In a level of its own. I’m so curious about Bridgerton as well. ❤ 😂
Outlander is an all-time favorite! I plan to pick up Wolf Hall in June as well for the readathon and also feel like I'm the last person to get to it. I recently read Bridgerton and didn't love it - the show is far better (but that's just my opinion).
Dissolution is so good! I hope you enjoy it. Outlander is also brilliant and addictive to continue the series. For historical fiction with a magical component, may I also suggest Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. I have read the three Hilary Mantel Thomas Cromwell novels and loved them as well. You have some really solid choices in this list. I am doing a couple of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe books (a re-read actually) as well as an Outlander novel. I might try to squeeze in an Aubrey/Maturin novel by Patrick O'Brian just because I love the series and the Napoleonic era Royal Navy. I am spoiled for choice really because historical fiction is my preferred genre and my shelves are packed with it. Enjoy your reading!
Your dog noises make me think of when my cat gets the zoomies and makes a racket for 3 minutes straight, ha. I’m interested in The Mad Women’s Ball, looking forward to your thoughts if you get to it. I’m so glad you picked West! Hope you enjoy it if you get to it. I really enjoyed the writing and it’s her debut! I also haven’t read Wolf Hall and want to so bad. I haven’t read Bridgerton but i watched the first season and I know each book/season focuses on different pairings of characters so I think you should be able to watch as you go.
Ah, brilliant. Reading Bridgerton now, so might start the first season once I've finished, now I know it's safe to do so! I have finished The Mad Women's Ball (I have thoughts) and West, so will chat about them soon :) My dogs find it impossible to sit still as soon as I start filming, haha. Hope you're having a fantastic reading month 😊 and thanks for watching!
