I've been struggling with the Illamasqua cream blusher too, but the application style that I ended up preferring was to dab a rather small duofibre brush just once in the pan, swirl it on the back of my hand and then swirl it on the cheek. Repeat this on each cheek and layer it if you want it to look more intense, or top it off with a powder blush. :)

Tanya, you are absolutely fabulous, you always look so stunning. I've been desperate for a tutorial on a very simplistic French-inspired makeup look that focuses around flawless skin and the "no makeup" look. I'd love to see your take on it!

To blend cream blush, after i put on my foundation i spray my cheeks with fix + then blend the blush in with my fingers and then powder where needed. It works so well for me. :) x

Hey Tanya, i own a few Illamasqua cream blushers and the best thing that works for me is to first powder your skin then apply, but before applying take most of it off the brush ( wipe off on hands etc) then keep blending. My favourite is the really bright red one which looks great on indian/ asian skin but too much of it makes your cheeks looks orange :/ but they last all day yay!!

Tanya, you have to get on the Kevin Murphy PowerPuff! It does such an amazing job for adding volume and continues to work even after you've slept on it the next day. Not the cheapest (shock shock) but so damn worth it! Loving the white lace you're wearing too btw. x

You could just use a stippling brush to apply the blush, and then a clean angled brush to blend it out. Works great for blendung :)
@valsrain123
@valsrain123 13 лет назад
For the cream blushes, maybe you could try applying the blush under your foundation and you could apply a little bit more than usually so that your foundation does not totally cover it up. But if you do that, it will get you that glow from within sort of look. I'm not too sure if it will help with blending. You could also spray your brush with water before applying the blush. (:

I use an EcoTools Bamboo Blush Brush with the Illamasqua cream blush in Libido. I tap the brush (gently since it's so pigmented) into the blush and then tap the brush along my cheekbones where I want the color to go. Next i use a kind of circular/oval motion to blend. Also, I think it blends better on more moisturized skin. I apply it while my face is still dewy from moisturizer/tinted moisturizer/foundation. Hope this helps because that blush is AMAZING! Thanx for sharing your favs. :)

For the cream blush you can take a bit on your hand and warm it up. I've also heard of people who heat it up with a blowdryer. Don't know how well that works though..hehe:)

I apply my cream blushes with a duo fibre brush (MAC 187) because I'm very fair and that way I apply only a little at a time and I'm able to blend it better.

i use my illamasqua cream blush in promise every single day and i don't know if you put powder on before your blush, but i'd say do your foundation, concealer, then blush and then powder. i don't think it'll blend as well on top of powder. illamasqua cream blushes are amazing though! would definitely recommend promise and dixie. promise is like a cream blush of viva glam gaga 1!

I feel silly giving a professional makeup tip, but lately I have been using loads of cream blushes and bronzers (loving Laura mercier bonne mine) and I have been putting them on just after my liquid foundation but before my setting powder. It is a bit of a diffused look, depending on how much you layer, but it's a really effortless and natural affect that lasts all day.

With cream blush, I rub a teeny bit onto the back of my hand (in a little circle) to warm it up/emulsify before applying. It's just like dabbing on a lipstick and blending it in with your finger. The friction warms up the product so the pigment sticks to your cheek and the excess oils get left behind. ; ) I have the same issue with Moroccan Oil~ too stinky for me. HA! I'll definitely try the Kerastase. Adore you and your videos. Love from New York City : )

Are you putting on any powder products before your cream blush? If you are then thats why its not blending well. Applying the cream blush with your fingers as opposed to a brush also helps because the heat of your fingers helps to melt the blush and make it easier to work with. Hope this helped :)

Hey Tanya, have you tried applying the illamasqua cream blush and then blending it in with your foundation brush? I find that when a blush is either too bright or won't blend, my foundation brush does the job just fine. No need to add anymore foundation to the brush; you could even wipe it off a bit before using it, just so the foundation doesn't over power the color. Hope this helps!

for BLENDING IN the ILLAMASQUA blush: what about putting your blush on BEFORE your JK Light As Air? That works better for me, especially if I use primer first thing, and then kind of glaze the foundation over the cream blush. For me, it makes the blush appear like it's coming from underneath your skin and kind of glowing through, instead of layered on top of foundation. Plus if you use an illuminating product on top of it all it makes it even glowier...love! thanks tanya! xo

a cheaper alternative to that shampoo/conditioner (if u like that airy feeling) is Dove. It makes my hair feel like it has no gravity. Also, if u want to keep your hair (or skin) healthy, you should probably look for products with no sulfates or parabens.
