There is so much pivoting and a constant relearning that has to be done through inflation from switching brands, stores, changing diets. WHEW! This has been our most expensive month of eating all year, I said this last month but it is even more true for June. I can see quite a bit of the mistakes we've made but now we can pivot next month.

You can check online for the dates listed at the bottom of the weekly flyer, but I'm pretty sure every Aldi in the US restocks on Wednesdays. If you want to be sure you can get an item, shop on Wednesday. Aldi pays well & has employee benefits and their store infrastructure is very hands off. Your local one probably isn't understaffed, they just only hire enough people to run the store in the back. A lot of times that means slightly longer lines, but I'll take a longer line if it's a good company.

Not me being super late to this insightful comment. I'll check out their flyer tomorrow because we have to go food shopping anyway. We don't mind the line, sometimes I keep shopping and browsing and when the line goes down all the way we run towards it. Also the cashiers are so freaking fast lol.

The basil will get really huge planted outside with your tomatoes. You can take cuttings from your basil plants. Put them in water and they'll root. One plant can equal a continuous supply. Great hauls! So healthy!!!❤. This kind of food haul is my favorite because you're sticking to a budget. You're not loading up with excessively unhealthy food. Beautiful! I used to make my own kombucha. It was intimidating at first because I'd never done such a thing. But I stumbled on something called a continuous brew and it makes kombucha so much easier to brew. It's much better than anything you can buy in the store. I will tell you that whatever you're thinking about the process it's really very very simple. It's an awesome way to save money! I need to get back to making it I can't afford my kombucha addiction!

I swear I wish you had a RU-vid channel, so much knowledge lol. I can see it now. I'll start researching it in the winter, that's usually when I create my new habits lol. Also I'm sooooo happy we gave up junk food. We got plantain chips at trader joes a few months ago and got soooo sick. Our bodies are not used to the slightest "processed" food anymore. Dimitri went to a function yesterday for work and he had a bagel and fruit for breakfast, then 2 crackers with different fruit, then a wrap with mushrooms, zucchinis, peppers, eggplant and he felt really different he said. Just not in tip top shape like he usually does when we eat at home.

@@JaciniaPerez I hear you. I used to love going to restaurants but most of the time I find that it's not worth it because I'm paying for disappointment and feeling icky afterwards. Although this weekend I went to a Shri Laken restaurant. It was spectacular! I got to visit my daughter. She made some incredible vegan Kibbeah Nayeh with caramelized onions and hummus (she makes the best hummus) with potatoes for dinner. Wish I could show you the pictures, it was gorgeous. The next morning she made a beautiful vegan grazing platter with vegan cheese from Rebel Cheese. I'd never heard of them before but it was delicious. Then I went to a garden party at some friends house for more delicious food. The next morning she made vegan french toast with a peach and blueberry compote. Delicious! She is the caregiver for her 98 year old Tete (grandma). I don't know how she manages to make such beautiful meals and take care of her Tete.

In my old city, they built a brand new BJ'S and sent us a 14 month free card and we went but after we didn't renew because secretly I do not like the idea of paying to be able to shop at a place lol. It would also be nice if I can just walk through and write down the ounces and prices for every item I buy to see if the unit price beats the other places I shop from. I don't know if I want to take the gamble and go in totally unsure if it's actually a better deal.
