Honestly I’ve used both. If you are a heavy pc users and love playing your pc games on the go, steam deck. Personally I need the form factor of the switch. But it was fun trying the steam deck out. My boyfriend didn’t keep it for long sadly. I wish steam deck would change up the form factor to be nicer to hold for me. So in a nutshell, If you absolutely are always on the go like me always dealing with health issues never knowing where I’m gonna be from month to month, definitely portable systems are for you. They are both great honestly. I’d be careful though with the switch oled if you get that version, mine has gotten the graininess on black screens effect but I don’t notice it when the game isn’t dark or black. I’ve had it for years only just noticed it now. So nothing I can do but use it till I need to upgrade. If you notice that happening before a year is up from buying it contact Nintendo or get a refund. If you don’t love the idea of playing a lot of steam games portably just get the switch.

@@IDrawToothpicks I decided to order the Steam deck two days ago. I saw multiple videos where even in low settings for Steam deck, looked way better than the same game on a Nintendo Switch OLED.

I’d rather them hold off to the switch successor next year. Tired of wondering how indie games are going to run on the switch

There are a lot of games…. Currently playing Wayfarer right now. I’ve seen many of the games she has highlighted on PlayStation. I’m playing Dave the diver too. And if you have PlayStation plus, many are free

It's the next console from nintendo (though who knows what it is actually going to be called or what it'll be like, nintendo tend to do a bit more gimmik stuff). If your current console is still serving you, then you don't need to get the next thing. Do be aware EVENTUALLY Nintentdo will stop officially supporting the switch (but this will be a while since it wasn't that long ago the last servers for the 3ds/wii u went down which was their consols before switch and the Switch sold so well). All that means is you'll have to rely on non-nintendo people to fix it/ for parts if it breaks or the second hand market for games but this will probably be a long time away.
