@@speedman1974 Thanks! But you seem to trust this harness :) I just want to use it for thermalling, when its all about the weight. My advance strapless 2 seems a bit fragile for this... I dont wanna do barrel rolls ;)

I would guess that String and Strapless are in the same category, but I haven't check the load spec...

@@KreuzassI regularly do barrel rolls with a strapless 2. It’s super strong and I trust it completely. The only thing that can go wrong is the little ball connection which holds the legs together might pop off, better to open it first.

Thanks for asking, and you have a good question! It depends on different factors, and I don’t use an instrument as a limit. Looking to map and weather forecast is very important for picking the right day. During an ascent and when you are up there you make the decision to fly or not. Part of the decision is typical local wind condition, whether laminar or turbulent, visibility, type of terrain; abort possible or not, type of wing; collapse resistance, your own experience; are you comfortable or not. Choice(s) of flight plan / route with respect to possible negative air effects, thermals etc. As you see this is about risk management. Also important to have in mind is to put in some margins for unpredictable conditions that may happen. Anyway, It is almost impossible to eliminate a certain risk, so it comes down to what level of risk you want to accept in the situation. But some thoughts about this up front is smart, making yourself some rules, for easy and wise decision :)
