I do not mean this as disrespectful or argumentative at all. I’m right behind you in age, 68. JK said himself when he was making these songs that he took it seriously that he is a KPop idol and he wanted to represent them well. The fact that he is a KPop idol does not change just because he sang in English and used different producers and background dancers. Also, he does have Korean background dancers, too. The only reason I want to respond to that is there were some petitioning to not allow him to get KPop awards. I don’t think that is fair. That would be like Americans saying BTS should not be eligible for western awards. I’m so happy Mcountdown and the other Korean shows didn’t shun him for the reasons you listed. We would have missed some really good performances and he would have missed out on some awards and recognition from his home country.

@@Imme_begin Ok, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. I do recall Jungkook stating that he wanted to be giant pop star and "go higher" he said. He did not say Kpop star. He went head on into the biggest pop market of all on order to achieve his dream and that was the American pop market. I see Kpop trying to keep him in the Kpop box and trying to take credit for his American pop music when JK made the choice to sing all of his music in English for a reason. Kpop does not do that. They throw in a few English words here and there. I guarantee you that the amazingly talented American songwriter/producers were not writing Kpop songs. They wrote American Pop songs for him since that was JK's dream. It is a matter of trying to claim credit for something that was clearly not created by them. What is a shame is that American award shows are creating Kpop categories for JK's American Pop. That is wrong. He deserves to compete with the biggest American pop stars. Let's say I wanted to be a giant Kpop star. I go to Korea, hire all Korean Kpop songwriters, producers, choreographers, dancers, directors, etc. I record in all Korean and film in Korea with well known featured Kpop artists. After I release it, I become a huge Kpop star in Korea which was my dream, but Americans claim it as American pop even though the only American involved was me and maybe a couple of dancers. IMO, that is not correct and I stand firm on that. 💜🫰🏻💜

Jungkook has been an adult for years now....like that's such a weird thing of you to say. He can be an adult and be adored/loved by the members, both can be true at the same time because they do love him and he loves them back. without you saying basically saying that everyone is infantilizing him when that's not the case.
