It’s a wonderful technique, I did at least two pages in my first journal ever which I have just finished, it took 5 weeks, as at first I didn’t have a printer,. I only have two rubber stamps so was very limited but they did look good and a bit different., so I am pleased to see it’s acceptable in the journal world, I chose your tutorial of gutting a book and it worked well, my friend didn’t really know the concept of journaling but absolute adored it and confesses she takes a peek every few hours😂

I do this same process, sort of. I stamp and then color in with colored pencil. If I want bolder color I use markers. I never thought of using watercolors. The daubing technique looks lovely. I think I’ll try it. I love the look of stamping on book pages.

Just a little hint to try Pam, if watercolour is absorbing too much add a tiny amount of glycerine or runny honey. A more expensive retarder is gum arabic, hope this helps

Great video, but I use color box, archival type inks, StazOn on, not water based inks to stamp , than I dry it real good, then after the water paints , then colored pencils on top of everything...there’s so many dif ways to do this....easy way...so much fun...thanks

Hi Pam...I recently came across your videos...I love them and you're so funny!! I found that if you place a piece of that very thin foam you get at the dollar store, under whatever you want to stamp on...it makes a very clear and clean imprint.

For old book pages, a good colored pencil, blends easily and can be as soft soft or dark as you like, if you would like to try a different medium.these pages are pretty!

Hello Pam, a little tip I learned from the frugal crafter about stamping good images and also can be used if you want to stamp off the edge of a project. Tip is to use one of those inexpensive scribble pads for kids that they sell just about anywhere. The pad gives just enough squish to make your stamps give you a good image. Hope this helps anyone. Love this technique!I have heard that if your stamp is too stiff,try putting a sheet of foam under your paper and then stamp your page. The give under your stamp will help it contact the paper better. Blessings-- Cindy

I only have acrylic paint. Maybe if I water it down it can act similar?

Another beautiful project to dive into.... I hope everyone has a wonderful safe and healthy crafty junk therapy weekend! I am a bit down that I will not be on for awhile to see moe amazing video tutorials. My 13 year old son woke up sick today and he is just feeling horrible.
