My husband and many others say I have the look. I’m pretty straight forward with what’s on my mind, both words and silence. After going through all my “stuff” today, this will be a great way to start using up those envelopes and papers. Yes, I remember doing the glue fingers, I think I’m the same age as you. It still gives my a thrill to peel it off the top of my Elmers glue bottle to this day. About a year ago I thought I could water down matte gel medium. I was peeling that off my fingers for days. No amount of scrubbing would get that off. We’re all here for you through the next couple of weeks. Take your time. Be gentle with yourself. Love you and big hugs.

This is a great way to use our scraps and junk mail envelopes, and it's so pretty. I sometimes make thing on the fly. I used to put glue on my hands and peel it off, too. I agree that kids today do not respect authority anymore. My Mama would have gotten a switch and tore my backside up if I got in trouble at school or anywhere else, especially if I had been disrespectful. Her rules were clear, and so was her punishment for bad behavior. I wasn't stupid enough to test her, either! 😅

I feel for you Mrs E I lost my husband five years ago, I have found the only thing that has kept me sane is to make journals, knit and sew so long I am occupied with my crafts I can cope with missing him. I was greatly Blessed with being married to the most wonderful man for 52 years. You are doing a wonderful job and I love watching your videos and listening to you chat about yourself and your life, you are so open and honest which makes a refreshing change. X

Oh, E, my heart goes out to you. Life sure is hard sometimes. So sorry that you're now a member of the same "club" that I belong to as well. Those special dates will always be special- 23 years later, it seems slightly easier, in some years but in others, oddly, it's like my beloved passed yesterday. I've learned to be extra good to myself that time, concentrate on treasured memories and try to be w my loved ones who are here, creating more memories! Thinking of you & your family. ❤

I think it is very helpful to others that you are open about the grieving process. The more understanding people have about it, the more they will know how to support people in their lives who are grieving. I am nearing the 2nd anniversary of my husband's death so I understand what you are feeling. Your openness and easy manner is what drew me to your channel. I like this project. Hi Miss E, well first off the insert is great and doable for us layman. Yes I put Elmers glue on my hands as a kid, I had to get it all off before I got home from school or I was in “Big” trouble. Edith my husband died from a very aggressive cancer, at home where wanted to be and I cared for him until he died. We were married a very long time. Sad to say it hasn’t gotten easier, but I’ve had to learn to continue without him. I miss him every day, but focus on the good times we had and there were a lot of good times .I guess what I’m trying to say is focus on the good when you are in that messy, ickie place we find ourselves in. I have you in my heart and prayers. See you in the next video 👍❤️

When I was in grade school, I would make a small puddle of Elmer's glue inside my metal desk and let it dry. Then, I would cut out nail shapes and make my own fake nails. I would then use a bit of glue to stick them onto my nail bed, or sometimes just a bit of water worked to stick them on. Funny, you saying that brought back that memory.

Edith, I believe that our bodies have a memory of trauma and loss. My son died 22 years ago. It’s less now but for years I would have anxiety and fear build up prior to the anniversary of his accident. I would have to remind myself that it wasn’t going to happen again, that it was over. I have learned that I need to take extra good care of myself during that time. I sometimes still remind family and friends that I need their support and understanding during that time. Remember to get extra rest, eat right, drink plenty of water, and do something that makes you sweat. I say that because stress hormones are released through our kidneys, sweat and our tears. So allow yourself to cry if needed. Many hugs and prayers for you ❤

It’s always good to talk but if you need to take away for yourself then you have to do that.. As I always say “it’s good to talk” and “always look after number one”. Love thos idea. ❤ I constantly put glue on my hands and pealed it off all the time and got in trouble too, she would draw a circle on the chalk board and you had to stand there with your nose in that circle, of course she drew it taller than you were so you were on your toes, in front of the class. 😂

let me tell you an Elmers glue story-I was a 4-5th grade teacher a few years ago when I discovered a group of boys around the corner of the school building at recess time. When they saw me, they quickly hid what they had been passing around! I made them hand it over, only to discover they had a lunch baggie with some Elmers glue in it. I stifled a smile and told them that the only thing that glue was going to get them was their nose hairs being stuck together. needless to say, we had an impromtu lesson on "huffing" after recess.

Loved to play with glue - I still do. I remember my school had paste that had a minty smell. We each had a piece of paper with a swab of paste to use. Liquid glue is much nicer imho

Oh yes I remember putting glue on my hands and peeling it off. You are so right, kids have no respect for their elders today

I don’t remember doing it but I am sure I did. The things we did then were a lot simpler. I agree with you a hundred percent the the now kids need to be reined in and learn some respect for everyone. The problem with that is we would have to rein in their parents too. As always you ALWAYS help me out of my demon, depression. I thank you so so much.‼️🙏

Enjoyed your video so much. We played with the glue too. You should feel free to share your feelings with us. We have all had or are having bad times. It is healthy to free your mind of your feelings. The firsts are alway hard on a person. Heartfelt hugs and prayers to you.

I was forced to be that way when I was young, and let me promise you that showing how you feel is the better, and certainly the more honest, way to be. You do you, E. We LOVE you!!

I’m sorry you are having a rough time 😢Concentrate on yourself and do only what you can do. Everyone here cares about you and only wants you to do what you need to do to take care of yourself. The rest doesn’t matter!❤

Yes I used Almers glue but before I started school the only glue I new was a glue my mother made for me with flour and water...

I love this! So pretty! Yes, we used to put/peel the glue too! My students (I retired 4 years ago) also put glue on and let it dry to peel off!

September 19th, 2007. That's the day my mom died. We share an awful anniversary, if I remember correctly. The first one is always hard! But, honestly, it's all hard. It's ok to stress about it coming up. It's ok that you're open about it. Expressing your feelings will help you work through them.
