Awesome rebuild from "spare parts"! I just picked up 2 Craftsman 1/2" drive ratchets with beat up handles from a yard sale. Only paid $1 for both. I'm going to take them apart and see if I can find a couple of other ones that have good handles and need new guts. Thanks for sharing!!! (Tommy)
I recently found out that Craftsman no longer supplies a repair kit for these older USA made ratchets. At least that's what the foreign sounding service representative told me on the phone the other day. I was calling Craftsman hoping to get replacement parts for my USA made breaker bar that I broke. He said they don't do that anymore along with ratchets. I had to settle for a new replacement breaker bar, and it's made in Taiwan. Sucks!!
Ha, good luck getting parts for any Sears tools. I was told that because the old ratchets are different part numbers from the new Stanley Black and Decker ones that they can't warranty them for new ones. I even had a new ratchet they made and the store wouldn't warranty it, they told me I had to call an 800 number and talk to them. Was on hold for almost half an hour.
@@tristenwelch1675 I did get a replacement breaker bar for free, a warranty replacement. Problem is, my old breaker bar was USA made and the new one was made in Taiwan, and it sucks!! Nowhere near the quality of my old one.
The difference is one being made in the USA and the other Asian made. I have a ton of repair kits for craftsman stuff if you need anything shoot me a message and I’ll hook you up
