Junk Silver Haul - Key Dates Found - This is Why I Buy Constitutional Silver
I went to my silver dealer and purchased all of his available Junk Silver. One bag full of silver Barber Half Dollars, Barber Quarters, and Barber Dimes!
Knowing that he rarely picks through them, I decided to buy them all in hopes of maybe adding a few upgrades to my album, or possibly scoring a better date or two. I did not expect to find so many rare coins (including some better dates and even a few RARE Barber coins that I could add to my coin collection and coin albums in this purchase...
In this video, I will search through all the old Silver coins from the bags. I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Hopefully you all enjoy this video!

I got myself a few Mercs at the coin shop yesterday. Just a small amount, five Merc dimes, all older Philly ones for 19x face. But it gave me enough to finally start a Merc book! Previously I only had one.

I work at a shop, and around a month ago I found a 1901-S quarter in a big lot of junk silver. There were only a couple Barbers in there too. It’s the rarest thing I’ve found sorting there for years!

is that really a good deal? i sold some junk silver, mainly walkers and washington quarters, but also had barber halves, quarters as well as morgans dollars, and i sold em all at 20 FV. do you think i wouldve gotten more for it?

It depends. Did you sell your coins to a coin dealer or an individual? Coin dealers will give you less than what they are worth, because they have to then re-sell it for a profit. Right now, silver is at $24.26 an ounce - and my local coin store is buying 90% silver at $16.44 times face - and this includes Barbers. They are paying $18 for 1921 Morgans and $25 for 1904 Morgans and earlier. Also, the condition of the coins matters as well - as nearly-uncirculated coins will fetch a premium over heavily-circulated coins. I would say that if you sold everything all at once, and if you didn't have any "rare" coins, you probably did okay. I usually can buy heavily-circulated Barbers for 22-26 times face - depending upon the price of silver. But I have never seen it at 20 times face when silver is at $24 an ounce. An individual might have given you more money for it - but again, it all depends upon the condition of the coins. @@BlackBird7790NWR

@@SouthernMetalyeah honestly, it was to an individual, and pure silver content wise, the whole lot of coins was around $630, but was paid a lil over $800 for em, so it was around 22x FV iirc (36.50 FV), so i guess i did good

Just a thought but I have a spreadsheet of the inventory in my book with a number grade on it so when I come across a coin in the junk silver that I think might beat the book I just put a number grade on that coin go and look at my spreadsheet and I'll know if it's an upgrade

No way!!! That's awesome. 5 or so years ago a bank gave me a bag of pennies that must have came from their customer return machine. Found 20 Indian heads and 107 wheat pennies. Was so excited went back to that bank and asked to buy all the pennies they would sell me. Found a few more older ones but none of the bags were a good as the first. I am mad at myself I didn't get other denominations. I didn't even think about it was just so Into searching pennies then. Oh well live and learn

I work at a bank and I kid you not, we had a mom and pop grocery store bring in a deposit that had a handful of Eisenhowers and a 1890's MORGAN Dollar mixed in with the change. The other teller told me he wasn't going to take the Morgan because he didn't think it was US currency!
