Love walking through old junk yards so much fun

We have video's on our channel of fixing split ring wheels. Forget tire shops. Just buy the necessary tools and fix them yourself. and they make radial tubes and liners so you can mount radial tires on a split rim. Widowmaker rims are different. I will not use them.

If you're planning to cut the center of your wheels and put them into 20 inch rims. You might look at some bus rims. I've used the outer rims from buses with no center to build my own specialty wheels several times in the past and saved a lot of time and worked great

Hey Chad went through this last year with my 55 F500 my tire guy found me new 5 bolt 22.5 rims that are awesome

Chad, it’s Jay here from Hermiston, Oregon . I like most of the ideas that you come up. You’re an interesting artist to watch. I’m 76 years old and I don’t see many people that do the things you do. Suggestions: the wheels you are looking for should probably be an 8x19.5. The bolt pattern is a standard 5 holed budd. You’ll find these wheels on a approximately 30 ft motor homes ( dodge and ford chassis). Also some school bus chassis ( dodge, ford and international) The overall tire height will depend on the size of the tire you get. The standard (8x 19.5) tire is 33 inches tall, but you should be able to buy low profile tire so it would be not as tall if you prefer. Good luck!! Stay safe.

Check out "1948 Ford F1 Radical Custom garage build" on YT to see how to chop the top and section the hood and body, which would work on the F6 too.

We couldn't walk through a junkyard like yours here in Australia, be dodging snakes and huge spiders haha

Here in Pennsylvania, we have a auto junkyard that's organized with cars in their own section lined up neat. You pay a small fee to get in and they hand you a map of the layout. You pull your own parts and pay on the way out. They have a vendor truck to grab a bite to eat. This place is huge. Need a part from a certain truck, look on map and it tells you what section to go to.

Must be nice to be able to walk through there and not worry about spiders and snakes 🤣👍

Bias ply tires are fine for the old Ford. There's more important things to worry about

CHAD are you looking for a 5 lug 19.5 diameter or 5 lug 20 inch diameter?

Jim, those were Dayton wheels. If you ever mess with those, back off the nuts just enough to be loose, but not all the way off. After you get them loose, smack the wheel with a hammer. Be careful with the wedges. If you fully remove the nuts, those wedges have the chance to come flying off of there causing serious injury or worse. Just a heads up!

It should of had 5 lug 750 x20 split ring rims. I have a set from a 1946 truck.

I do like watching these kinds of video to see what people are tossing out to the grave yards for car's and truck's vans and everything in between.

You know you can put radial tyres on split rims. You just have to run them with inner tubes.

The doors are chained because it was a derby car, rules differ places, but usually doors have to be welded shut and a chain or bar going across. I can tell alot of that 80's pile was derby, cause the one truck bed had "torky" spray painted next to get r done. Something we woulda done as kids if the thing was a torque monster.

No Treasure in the yard today. Get to have Jim Tag along. Hopefully Jolene didn't have Shorts On.

WHEELS--- 2 tips. 1. I have a 72 winnabago rv on a dodge platform with the 3 piece wheels. It uses an inner tube. There is a company that makes new tires for them. I can't remember the brand but they were $100 USD for one. Done didn't make a 20 inch rim for the trucks until 2005. It's an alloy not a steel wheel. I'd recommend looking into the tubed option and continuing with the same rims. Just buy new tires. $4-500 and you are good to go.

Trucks run split rims for years, you don't need radial Tires ...

You need a crucible, some ceramic bricks and some bellows , casting sand and some old wheels of similar grade. Cast your own then. 🧐😁👍
