On today's episode I relocate the spring perches on my 1968 B-Body Mopar 8.75 8 3/4 axle to A-Body width and get this axle ready for my 1969 Dodge Dart Junkyard Racecar
Howdy there Guys and Gals, My name is Duddie and I want to bring you along on my Automotive Adventures! We will do everything from Driving down the road in My Cummins Turbo Diesel, Going Offroading, Overlanding, Rock Crawling, Working on Trucks, working on cars, Automotive Failures, Turning Wrenches, DIY Automotive repair, Metal Fabrication, Drag Racing, Anything MOPAR and most importantly getting Tacos !

Those welds are perfectly fine. I'm sure you can relate to high RPM clutch engagement. Twisted off drive shafts, shattered u-joints, broken yokes, and snapped axle shafts. But I have never experienced a spring perch failure-yet. LOL

I went the other way, both my Dusters are sitting on B-body 8.75 with the hole oval. You did it right !!! LOL

Crazy as it sounds, I've packed a rag or towel with ice and stuffed it onto the axle tube to keep it cool. Good work there Duddie, stay cool and stay safe.

Great progress. Those welds look pretty good. I know what it’s like the world was defective equipment. And believe me I’ve caught my wrath of crap for that. Lol Videography on this one was exceptional. Don’t know what you’re doing different but I like it.

Great video Duddie. A buddy of mine used a B body rearend and spread the leafs to fit in his 440 Valiant and used Ranger wheels. It was quite a tire burner.

great video dude! you are on the right track, 8 3/4, 408, hoosier tires. im assuming 727 transmission. get a high stall converter and youll be set!

Have BTP get after it. They been swapping small blocks in and out and rebuilding one . My how to guy Duddie just struggling in the Texas heat. That welding wire is like a car with a ball of yarn.

It was in there from the floor pan work I've been doing on the Crew Cab. With all the time I wasted fixing the wire feed, I could of just installed the correct wire and wheels and not had a problem haha , The welder failure was on me! Appreciate it and Thanks for watching!

Too much work. Just cut one of those new perches in half, weld it to the inner side, and redrill the center hole 1/2" over. Almost as good, and a whole lot cheaper! Plus the original perches keep the angles right.
