Sounds wonderful. Vernon Leidig passed away a few years ago-- he was good friend of mine. He LOVED composing for students! Great job!

The cello entry at 4:39 always gets me, you can see only the first 3 desks nailed it. Others had no clue haha

Great job! I know this is arranged and a younger ensemble, but you guys did well and I loved the lyrical section! :)

Why are we not playing the original? This version cuts out 2 themes by the first minute... Doesn't do the absolute masterpiece that is the original justice. I feel so depressed just playing this version. C'mon; all of the parts of Holst's original piece are available online......:(

Hi! Are you playing this piece? Because I sure am. I'm just excited my band gets to play this with an orchestra (I think that's what it is).

Yeah, we're playing this. Forgive my over hungry, over tired, angsty rant from before. Nonetheless this arrangement demolishes the sentiment of the piece, and cuts out my favorite theme from it so I'm pretty bummed. Not much I can do about it now.....

Stop hating

And what I mean by that is, sometimes you can't play the original because you aren't good enough, and you to play a simplified arrangement, and your stamina isn't good enough so you have to shorten the piece. I'm not saying that the original isn't good, I'm just saying that younger ensembles can't play as many original pieces.

we are the younger ensembles and we want to and can play the masterpiece but out director won't let us so it just sucks we are hating, we're just moody teenagers that love music, i'm playing this for my wind ensemble full orchestral and i want the original so bad...

I wonder how many of these fine musicians know the words to I vow to thee my country or that Holst was actually British and lived in Barnes?
