awesome video, thank you! I took it apart to clean it but didn't know how the ball bearings and springs all lined up - I was about to give up and get a new one but thanks to this, mine is back in action!

Thanks for the video. I have a Jura Impressa J6 with a grinder like the one in your video. It wasn't working...no beans going into the grinder, so I replaced the grinder burrs. This didn't resolve the problem. Similar to someone else who left a comment here, I'm getting a "Fill Beans" error message even when there are plenty of beans in the hopper. I cleaned the sensors so they shouldn't be blocked (looks like there are two sensors that shoot a beam across the hopper to check for beans). I didn't need to replace the burrs after all, it's something else. I've taken the grinder apart a few times now to see what I missed and can't find anything wrong, but it's not feeding beans through and I'm getting the "Fill Beans" message on the screen. Sounds like this might be a semi-common issue. Any ideas?

Sorry, no. I'm not a technician. I actually just figure mine out whenever I have an issue. Haven't worked on a J6.

I bought my ENA 8 brand new and took the grinder apart to clean it. Interestingly it didn’t come with the 3 springs and bearings. 😅

Were they missing or is it a different grinder?

Hello great video. What do you do when you took it apart, and discover there are no markings?
@therangeproteeguy7842

Assemble the grinder completely. The top of the grinder can be clicked clockwise or counterclockwise. Once installed, take the grinder to the center of the clockwise counterclockwise stops. (Example: if there are 16 clicks, take it to eight). Then install the course/ fine knob so that it is centered between the course and fine setting. This should line up all the gears, then turn your course knob back and forth and you can see that it just adjusts the collar back and forth too. Place it back to center and continue to reassemble coffee maker.

Really detailed video. Thank you. I got Jura Impressa Xs90. You think this works with that model? Somebody poured water into the grinder, you think doing this would repair it?
@therangeproteeguy7842
@therangeproteeguy7842 3 года назад
I don't believe that they are the same but they are very close. If water entered the grinder it could have quite possibly ruined/shorted the grinder motor that is just below it. You could try unplugging it and letting it dry out for several days and then plugging it back in to see what happens. Sometimes they come back to life when they're dried out.

Happened to my Jura-F9 10 years ago, I unplugged, put a small fan on top of it, let it dry for a day, worked like nothing happened ever since.

Hi! Thanks for the video! I recently got a non functional unit and upon disassembling the grinder I found out that the little springs and bearings are missing could you tell me how important these are for the grinder to function? Thanks.
@therangeproteeguy7842
@therangeproteeguy7842 3 года назад
These apply pressure to the bottom grinders so it rests against the top grinder. I think this would cause an extremely course grind. Search "Jura grinder spring and ball" to find parts.

@@therangeproteeguy7842 this is very helpful I had the same problem of loosing the springs and too coarse of coffee! Silly question though if the lower burr is held against the bottom with the tightened screw compressing the springs then how can the springs press it up?

This is a nice tutorial. However I did not find how to replace the motor. It`s tricky to find how to take apart this motor and gearbox. Can you advise how to do this, please?

Sorry, I have never done this so I can't advise you on how it is done. I personally would just buy the grinder unit and replace it.

Great video! I replaced my grinder with a new one. Unfortunately the grinder doesn't activate. I get a message saying not enough coffee. Why would the grinder not activate? The bean container is full. Are there ways to test the individual components?
@therangeproteeguy7842
@therangeproteeguy7842 3 года назад
If it didn't happen before you changed the grinder you might have possibly moved a sensor or accidently disconnected it. Other than that I'm pretty stumped.

I have the Jura Impressa S9 One-Touch purchased from Costco 8 years ago. Stopped grinding and message said fill bean hopper, it was full. Cleaned and refilled, same thing. Any advice?

This unit senses how much coffee grounds are in the brew unit to give you this error. This means your grinder chute may be clogged. Unplug unit, this should reset the error. Pull out the funnel where you would place ground coffee. This will give you access to the grinder chute. Clean out the grinder chute the best you can. Put everything back together. Plug it back in and give it a try.

Great video! I completed the replacement, but now my Jura doesn't prompt me to "Empty Grounds". The bin just fills with pucks and never prompts me to empty them. Is something in the wrong position after my burr replacement? How does Jura know when grounds need to be emptied? Number of coffee drinks dispensed? Need a Pro Tip? Thanks in advance.

Try removing the grounds bin and put the tray back in with out the grounds bin. This should reset the machine. if this doesn't work give me a couple days because I am in Legoland right now.

@@therangeproteeguy7842 Thx. Turned machine on, removed tray. Removed used grounds container/bin. Reinserted tray. "BIN MISSING" message. Removed tray, emptied bin, replaced bin, reinserted tray. Now I'll need to run a few brew group cycles (puck dumps) to see if resolved. Will let you know. Thx again for prompt reply. Enjoy Legoland.

is it possible to replace only the motor? looking at an ENA9 micro where the grinder doesn't run and "fill beans" message appears. Hoping the chute is clogged, but if not then hoping i can rebuild with new motor instead of spending $400 on new grinder assembly

I accidently got water in my grinder and so obviously I need to take it apart and clean it out. What is the blue dot for on one of the holes in the inner white ring? Is this marking something?

Can the machine run without the small bearing seen at 10:45? My bearing got lost and I ordered new ones, but it'll take a week to get them. Should I assemble the grinder without it and redo when I get the new ones or just wait?
@therangeproteeguy7842

I believe machine will work without the bearing. You just won't have the clicking sensation when you adjust the coffee grind setting. There is a possibility the grind setting may drift with use but I don't know so keep an eye on where you set it. Hope this helps.

Hello. Great video very informative. I need help, I just bought a used Krups orchestro with a very bad noise for a few pesos here in Mexico. I was able to fix the noise, just was the brew motor and the machine works again. Of course, I did a deep cleaning in the brew group and in the grinder (you don’t believe what I found there). Anyway, the machine works great, but the grinder is not delivering enough coffee and not fine enough, the puck is bridle and wet when is deposited in the tray. I don’t make the mark in the grinder rings and I just adjust to 13 clicks to the left as I found in a forum somewhere. The resulting coffee is not strong enough (compared to an Nespresso machine for example) the grinder seems to be in a good shape and very sharp. What can I check? Please help! Thank you.

I don't work on these machines but it sounds like the grind is just too coarse. Is there an adjustment on the outside of the machine where you can make the find a little finer?

@@therangeproteeguy7842 Thank you for the answer. This machines are exactly the same as some jura machine, i believe they are made in the same factory. And yes, the grinding is to coarse. They do have a dial to adjust the grind but if i chanche to a finer grinde, there is not enought coffee delivered to the brew group, just a few grams and the taste is awfull. What i need to improve is the amount of coffee delivered to the brew group. Thank you again!

Grind time determines grounds output. Are you finding grounds other than in your tray? If it didn't do this before I took the grinder apart I would assume that it was something I did that caused it. I would pull the grinder out to get a part put it back together making sure I didn't miss anything.
