Jurassic World Evolution 2 DLC - Is this a JOKE?!? | Update 1

They REALLY should've worked on fixing the bugs that at some points can make the game UNPLAYABLE instead of releasing a patch with almost unnoticeable bug fixes, and a DLC just to make some money.

I think the dlc is pretty great but I really don’t like how early it came out. Almost feels like content cut from the base game. Guess the positive is that it’s slightly cheaper that the dlc from the first game, at least in my area. Though it’s not surprising that Frontier would do this. Planet Zoo had bugs and glitches yet they still released a pack extremely early. I just hope that the pricing stays consistent because I would not like it to be more than what it is now.

I like Jurassic world evo 2 but I agree A LOT with this video. The dlc should just have been in the game from the start and the level of creativity is so low. I always get lost in my parks due to how similar every thing is. In planet zoo that problem is gone and I can end up making a park I want. Also I can’t be the only one who things the dinosaurs are really basic and boring? Not the animations or models those are fantastic! I mean what they do. For instance they don’t breed they don’t interact with the habitat they don’t grow up they don’t have special interactions they just walk around sleep eat roar and maybe break out and fight. And yes that is cool but the fights get boring when you once realise there are all the same thing. So in my opinion planet zoo is 10000% better then Jurassic world evo2.

it really is shocking news considering the litiny of problems that still plague the game. I look forward to seeing the new Pterosaur phase through the aviary...or starve to death getting stuck in looping animations

i mean, i kinda get you coz in movies (for example), the 2nd one aims to be even better and greater than the first movie, so does in the game industry and yep, i've heard by some that JW2 is just technically a reskin of the first game with the same issues. (i am still hyped and looking forwards it coz i don't have it yet)

I respect your opinion I really like your honesty and i personally don’t mind the dlc but what concerns me the most about the dlc is the possible price and the fact you will most likely will have the grind the game in order to get the creatures which can take days .

They are fixing some of the major issues, and some of the minor issues. You are complaining about things that wont change, because you want the game to be something that It is not. Im sure other free updates Will come in the future to fix the rest. The DLC is just new species for those that want it. If its worth the price or not is up to each person to decide. But its definatly not anything that will change the experience in such a way that you have to buy it in order to enjoy the game.

I'm eager to see The lost wild released. What i don't like with all jurassic park games is than they failed to offer what the consumer expect from a Jurassic park title. I mean, jurassic park is suppose to be offering a gameplay like alien isolation, where you need to find your way in the middle of the food chain (like with the alien chasing you in alien isolation). I tried Jurassic World evolution 1 and even for a park management, it looks like a scam. It's just not fun to play, it's repetitive as hell. Every dino feel the same and you don't really feel rewarded to manage to create a dino. I've played many jurassic park game and i've never see anyone able to transcript the jurrasic park experience like we see in the movies. I believe than those dev are blind and they don't even understand what jurassic park is in the first place.

I fully agree. I had low hopes from the very first trailer. This doesn’t feel like Jurassic World Evolution 2 it feels like 1.5 People in facebook groups and communities told me that I’m being too negative and that the developers are doing their best under the limitations of their game engine. No they’re not. This is the same developer that made Planet Zoo with the same engine. Planet Zoo had many new animals with new themes and decor in their DLCs. Jurassic World DLCs are pay for patches with 3 to 5 new animals at the very most. Do you really wanna know just how lazy the developers are? It took them half the first games lifespan to put a handful of individual placable trees in the game only to have that feature REMOVED from the second game. Now what boggles my mind the most is that they have access to these models, they made each tree model themselves. You’re telling me they can’t add them individually in the game? The DLC is just add ons for what should already be in the game. I’m just really disappointed with Frontier :(

This game released in an unfinished state with game breaking bugs. It should have been released at least a month later with the Cretaceous pack dinos included in the roster. A 'cash grab' is too polite a phrase for what Frontier have done with this game. At first I thought the missing Chaos Theory level had been removed to avoid spoilers as the sixth movie had been delayed and assumed the level would be released for free at a later date. But the final level has been pay gated in the latest DLC, no doubt to increase its percieved value and justify its price tag. JWE2 recycles assets from the first game and is still generally mediocre to play even after all the patches. It just comes across as lazy and greedy.

How come you don’t go in detail with the FREE patch? That fixes most of people problems with the games, adding new stuff to the game? How come?

While I do agree that the doc was a bit early I don’t agree that it’s a cash grab. People in frontier will be in different teams. So those who do the creature design and all of that won’t be the ones fixing the problems. And due to the game probably being finished in terms of content a bit before launch so people in the company can fix the major issues. This leaves those working on creature design with nothing to do other than to start working on the dlcs. Maybe they should have held or a bit but calling it a cash grab i dont think is fair

I personally haven't got the game yet, am hoping to get it for Christmas. I have however seen lots of videos on the game and will say it looks good. I'm kinda underwhelmed by the lack of decorations and placeable items within the game at the moment. I would love to see benches, fountains, and other items make their way into the game at some point; An improved terrain tool would be a good start, and the addition of being able to customize more of your park-like maybe having the option to customize the design and color of your paths, or maybe add in stone and brick walls you could place down in a similar way to the fences. What I would really want them to improve on, is to perhaps scale down the hitbox slightly. Frounterie has said they want us to make our parks look unique...well what about allowing us to place rocks on top of one another, or allowing us to place down the foliage one leaf at a time as you can in prehistoric kingdom and planet zoo. Frontier know what we want, and we know that they can do it, they just either choose to ignore us...or its something to with the higher ups.

I'm actually happy this DLC is happening, if for reasons that are completely oblique to the actual DLC salami slice tactics we keep seeing from publishers. I'm happy because it allows modders to create new species as opposed to replacements. Is it sad that Frontier can at best deliver a platform for modders to essentially complete the game's development? Yes. But given the dearth of dinosaur park management options out there, I'll take it

The entire game is a cash grab. Barely improves on the previous game. I recently discovered that dino mods are available on planet zoo. And even thought the animations wont be as fluid as JWE, the potential for creativity is far beyond the wildest dream of the franchise. The river cruise. Ironic that its on many JWE lore and yet not a single game featured. With planet zoo and dino mods it can be achieved. Second sign that JWE is a piece of shit? The fact they had to add 40% off on steam a month away from release. Its also a big "fuck you" to anyone who supported the game on launch as they will end up paying more than anyone who buys it now.

This is the reason im not touching this game until everything is released and i can buy the full package at a discount. Im not supporting the developers who continue their honestly disgusting trend of releasing DLC of content that should have been in the base game for extra money. They did this with all their previous games and they are doing it again.

I mostly agree on you. This game is simply a cash grab, there is not enough new in it to distinct itself from the first. When i first loaded it up my thoughts where confirmed; This IS the first game with a few extra things to manage and edit a little. The dinosaurs looks pretty much to be the same models. The skin system is pretty awful and the dinosaurs walking/turning animation is pretty much them sliding everywhere. Some even phase through eachother during certain actions. Something i really wished for in this game was dinosaur enrichment. Animals in zoos get toys as to not get bored. I think its pretty insane to think a pack of raptors would be satisfied with a large enough pen with some trees in it and a random goat. Other things that disapoint me is the lack of fence styles, and viewing platforms looks and shapes. I want one that is open, that could be put with herbivores. The lagoons are a major let down to me. It is so bland and there is NOTHING you can do with em. What about bridges crossing them for great guest view?! Yes i know the train system kinda does that but what if i just wanted a walkway for the guests? there is much to be desired. By no means do i need it to have as much customization as planet zoo, but a good in between would be perfect to me.

I don't care at all about the "rebalancing" aspect of the update I completed 100% just fine and Jurassic difficulty. But the game has so many bugs, some of which were in JWE1, and in some cases they are game breaking. Best example is the aviary. I was having issues with the aviary always getting broken in a sandstorm, so I decided to just get rid of it. Of course then I was hit by the flyers stuck in hatchery so my transport helicopters (all of them) were stuck above it forever. Reloading didn't fix it. This meant I couldn't use the Paleo building, I couldn't release from the hatchery because no helos, couldn't get rid of dead dinos. Bare in mind this was 6hrs into a jurassic difficulty challenge mode, specifically the last one in the South West USA. Thankfully I did have an earlier save, and that only had 3 stuck helos so I was able to at least carry on and finish instead of scrap the whole save and start over. But unless these big bugs are fixed I won't touch the DLC. I don't care about DLC so soon, so long as it's about the same price as the JWE1 packs. But I won't drop money on it while potentially game breaking bugs are there. Cash grab? Of course it is, all games and DLC are cash grabs, it's their only purpose these days.

I'm DISAPPOINTED with you Bro, are you gonna complain about everything the games does from here on out? This is no different than what Planet Zoo does, release dlcs and fixing none of the buggy animal animations, I thought you were different from other click baity "this sucks" kinda channels, yet here you are turning on the controversial machine to claim a few views, just sad really, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt the vid is still well edited overall otherwise I'm unsubscribing.

This game is a cash grab, 100%. I have lost the little respect I had for frontier after this game released, Jwe1 was shit and jwe2 is also shit. I hate where games are going right now, Just bland cash grabs 99% of the time (like this one) with disgusting communitys that will send you DEATH THREATS if you say their game is bad (jurassic world fan base included). I remember seeing the hate comments on your first video about this and I could already tell they were toxic, I also have experience with this awful community and some of them even sent me death threats. In fact one of the major youtubers of the community, swrve, even told me I was a horrible person for not liking the movies and the games. I would love you to succeed Midlife Gamer and would hate it if this shit fan base destroyed your growth over this, I just wish someone would speak up about this horrible community for once.
