*General Notes / TL;DR*:
Lather Games: Animal Day
I was fortuitously able to assemble a nice menagerie of animals for today's shave...
The soap was an Otter, the razor a snake, the blade a bird, the brush a doggy, and the post was a tiger. Boom!
I'm really glad for this day, because both the razor and soap were newly acquired after the Games began, and I would have hated to have to wait till July to try them!
Razor and Blade Notes - RazoRock - Mamba 70 ::: Treet - Falcon (4 uses):
Really nice shave. I'm looking forward to putting more blades in this razor. Still smooth, despite being more gappy than its smoother OG predecessor. Nicely efficient too. I'm glad they didn't set the gap too much higher, because there are just tons of mid-range razors that feel more aggressive. To me, this one is still in the category of "Comfortable razor that still cuts well."
Soap Notes - Noble Otter - Plunder:
Them: "Slight bay rum elements an' 'eavy on the wood smoke" and
"Bay, Grog, Spice, Rose, Lime, Grapefruit, Vetiver, Cannon Smoke"
Scent: I think the rose sweetens up the smoke and makes it more resemble a cooking wood fire, rather than the pungent smoke from cannon fire. The rose definitely doesn't make this a floral scent, but it does in my opinion, weaken the effect of the smoke, and other masculine elements to a small degree. I wasn't really able to discern the Vetiver, but I think I was able to pick up a hint of citrus.
It's one of those scents where I really liked it at first. But then I started to notice what the rose (I'm guessing) is doing to it. But I'll have to use it more to see if the rose makes it so I'd rather pass it on.
Though I seem to be on the fence about it, I'm glad Noble Otter is heading this direction.
Scent Strength: 4/10, present during shaving.
Lather: as wonderful as always. Luxurious rinses and feel. Good protection and excellent glide for the razor.
* 30 second load with lightly-wet soft badger brush
* 3 tsp water to build the lather
* = 5 passes of lather.
Maybe back off on the soap next time, but keep water the same. I wouldn't want to go thicker (just my preferences).
Bowl - I used the XL version of this 3D-printable bowl:

Brush Notes - Whipped Dog - Silvertip 22mm Tall Handle (8 uses):
One of my all time favorite brushes. Some would consider it floppy, and maybe it is a bit. But I like the soft tips and cloudy feel, and am able to whip up a lather from any kind of soap.
*Shave Quality*
During the Shave Feel:
Cheeks: Smooth
Neck: Smooth
After the Shave Closeness:
Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get
Neck: Cut flush to where I just see the tips (above average for me)
