I can’t afford a “real” 2x72 yet, so I opted to utilize one of my larger grinders and try out this unit.

Well it seems to work ok. Keep in mind there is no platen or tool test of any kind. The strength depends on the grinder motor. The belt certainly plays the major part in material removal. All that’s really left is the build quality of the unit, which seems to be fine. The tracking works fine and the belt returns to center if it’s forced off track by pressure. I’ll eventually make a platen for it. I’ll try to video the process and post it on my channel. I’m not recommending taking the belt guard off, but I took mine off. It helped a lot with sparks coming back around and hitting me in the face. I also added a pan of water under the drive belt to catch sparks and dust. The belt is not in the water, but above it a couple of inches. I hope this helps! Y’all please like and subscribe!

What has been your opinion on these grinder attachments? Are they worth it or just junk?

@@JimmyJamesHopper thank you! What size motor would you recommend for any? A 1 hp? Or would a 3/4 work as well?

@@sjaramillo26 i’m using a three-quarter horsepower motor. A one horsepower certainly would not hurt at all, laugh out loud! The next size up grinder attachment recommends a one horsepower motor because it has a bigger drive wheel, I believe it’s an 8 inch drive which would give it an 8 inchsanding surface.
