I was brought to canada from Britain when I was 9 years old in 1977! I am still considered a British citizen because I couldn't afford the citizenship when I was older. Then I got married, had a child and paying for citizenship was not in my budget...now, after working and paying taxes for 40 plus years I still can't afford the citizenship...HOW IN THE HELL DID THESE TERRORISTS GET CITIZENSHIP???? You don't have to pay for citizenship. You get it when you're eligible. That's how it works. I got mine when I decided to stay permanently in Canada, just went to the ceremony. And at my ceremony there were plenty of Chinese parents of ppl who had immigrated earlier, these elderlies were simply sworn in even if they didn't speak English, just because they were the parents of ppl who worked damn hard to escape the tirany of their country of origin.
