its so easy to make, just experiment a while till you find out what you like best for flavor. theres really no such thing as an exact ramen recipe, same with chili. find whats most delicious to you

15$ for a beautifully made bowl of ramen in NYC is completely reasonable. Like he said, it takes three days from stock to your chopsticks-- he too needs to benefit.

Back in 2010, we paid approximately USD16 for a bowl of ramen in Shinjuku. The upside was, the bowl of ramen was full of noodles, meat slices and eggs that could feed two pax, unless of course you are a competitive eater. As a noodlehead, I think the price is justified for a splurge now and then if the taste is bomb

Now that was a well done video! I liked that you had Sean there asking questions. I liked that you had Just Blaze, someone passionate about the food explaining why he felt the way he does about the food. I liked that you had Ivan, the man behind the idea and whose restaurant it was talking about why he got into the business and what set him apart from others. I liked that it was shot with real customers during regular hours. All around A+ video, keep this format and you're solid in my book.

Just Blaze - "it's fast" - when talking about Ramen. No, no it's not fast, 12-72 hours for a bowl of ramen. Ivan - "it takes us 3 days for a bowl of ramen", with Just Blaze silently nodding in agreement. Just Blaze is just another person opening a ramen house who has no business doing so, won't be involved in it and probably doesn't know the first steps to making a bowl of ramen. Props to Ivan for being a legend though.

I think he meant fast as in between the time you order and the time it arrives to your table. Add noodles, add dashi, broth meat and egg. Thats 6 minutes (egg cook time basically). Obviously each individual ingredient takes much longer to prepare, but the bowl itself gets made quickly.

daaamn people don't understand in the comments, yes for good tasting broth it will take several hours too make. It's like how you would want to marinade a piece of chicken or beef for 24 hours before cooking. And it costs a lot because it's quality and fresh ingredients. You may compare how in Japan a bowl is only $7 but that's because the ingredients are more local and easier to get where as in New York it maybe imported or whatever the fuck idk i gave up mid way through. What i'm saying is that longer made broth is way better tasting than someplace that may serve all day making broth constantly fresh from the ingredients, not giving it time to let all the flavors mix in.
@Tuxedosam.
@Tuxedosam. 3 года назад
Omg thank you for saying this people apparently forget that importing salt (Ivan does do this) and other ingredients literally 1/2 way around the world is going to be more expensive than the low quality stuff you get at the local bodega. RESTAURANTS ARE NOT MONEY PRINTING OPERATIONS THEY HAVE REALLY LOW MARGINS PLEASE REALIZE THIS PEOPLE.
