The main thing for me in just cause is the destruction and liberating locations. Just cause 3 does both of these much better imo. I love the way towers topple and crumple in jc3!!!
The biggest difference for me is that JC3 gives you a sense of purpose when liberating bases, outposts, and towns, but JC4 doesn't do that. It REALLY loses a lot of that sense of purpose, and for that reason alone I prefer JC3. Also JC3 has better expansions.
I loved the outpost system in 3. It made sense. You destroyed all the infrastructure. Was fun too. I just started 4 and it seems I'm going to have to force myself to play it
You actually can ADS in just cause 3 you just need to unlock the precision aim mod which is unlocked by doing the shooting range challenges (there is a feat for the precision aim too)
Just Cause 3 is an amazing game, I love the way rico is portrayed in it and I prefer his voice actor in it compared to 4. The world to me is more enjoyable and beautiful, it feels complete compared to 4, though I do see the framerate issues especially on console should have been fixed
You deserve more recognition, this is the best comparison video I have seen on any game. You're straight to the point and you share the most important parts when deciding. You earned a sub my friend
I really liked completing the map to just destroy bases and that sort of things , in just cause 4 i missed this feeling Thats why i think jc 3 is better
Yeah JC3 was better about making you feel like you were impacting the game world. That said though, when JC3 was done, it was done. Sure it takes a long, long, LONG time to get everything done so it's kind of a moot point, but still it's nice that in JC4 you can hit up a base and begin destroying it like it was your first time.
i remember getting the big base at the top of the mountain but not playing the story so the turrets attack me every time i go there so making it useless lol
@@jacksterjester6621 Yeah all of the big bases that have defense systems will still attack you after being liberated if you haven’t reached that part in the story. I started playing JC3 again and use that to make the defense system destroy chaos objects for me by flying around in the bavarium wing suit.
@@Shenmoki there are also more enemies around the game world and more overall things to do. Whereas in just cause 3 you can reoppress and reliberate bases but that gets boring real quick
@PandemicPlayz just looking at your picture gives me memory's of me seeing that logo appear when loading up Mercenaries. Such a shame we don't see it anymore.
Just Cause 3 is much better than the fourth part, only the map is not as good. Edit: I strongly disagree with your opinion on weapon variety. Just Cause 3 is vastly superior here, you have mortars, guns that create a deadly laser from the sky, fully automatic shotguns, a nuke launcher etc etc. In Just cause 4 all special weapons look and behave the same. Weapon stats are gone, there are only 2 rocket launchers and not a single gun is memorable.
Your entire comment is so exaggerated that it discredits your argument. Like, "only the map in JC3 isn't as good", "not single gun in JC4 is memorable", etc.
I play just cause 3 on xbox, and it's really fun blowing stuff up, and killing random people. You can also just go around liberating whatever base you want, really fun. But I don't have just cause 4 so I can't judge that.
i got both games, rn im finishing jc3 for the third time and i barely even got into jc4 it just doesnt feel the same, maybe one day ill finish it and change my opinion but i just dont think its as fun as jc3
Just wanted to make a quick correction here since i've been getting the comment a lot, JC3 runs pretty well on PC, usually better than JC4. I probably should've tested it more thoroughly. i just lowered my graphics before playing for footage and never looked back lol. The game does still run like shit on console though. And if you say it runs well for you, i dont believe you c: ORIGINAL PINNED COMMENT: Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed the video. For now i think i'll do pinned comments to keep you guys updated. With this one i was under a heavy time constraint and while i was certainly to blame somewhat for my sloppiness in this video, sometimes things just come up that you can't control and that really impacted this video. I wound up having only about 14 minutes to record all my voice overs in this one so i'm sorry if a few lines feel rushed or just plain could've used a second take. The final product really wasn't as cohesive and certainly not as funny as i wanted it to be when i was first conceptualizing it. Still it should do for this week's video, stay tuned for Death Stranding next week! :)
I like all the comparisons you made here, it sounds fair and complete. I don't like how most people just talk shit about JC4 without addressing some of the things the game did *right.* P.S: Aim down sights *is* in JC3, it's just an unlockable upgrade instead.
you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf lately =)
I got jc3 XXL on ps4 for 5 usd last week, this week jc4 complete edition came for 17 usd on ps4 lol, so I decided to buy both but the frame rates on jc3 are horrible
yeah it really it shocking that it hasn't been improved since release man, once the action really gets going it just becomes a slideshow. real shame, it's such a fun game. playing offline does help it somewhat, for what that's worth
I got it for Xbox and it was so fun but I stopped playing because I couldn’t stand the frame drop from the explosions. Recently bought a $1500 MSi laptop and now I don’t have any frame drop after messing with settings and having the graphics turned all the way up. The game is so much more enjoyable and the explosions are great. Plus you have so much better control over Rico with a mouse.
I play on a pc where i can get WAY over 60fps at 4K on both games (both run pretty much identical on my system) so this is purely from a gameplay point of view JC3 is better (that being said jc4 is still a damn enjoyable game I just don't think it's AS good as 3) the never ending spawning of enemies in 4 is so stupid you can turn around shoot somebody then turn back around and theres suddenly a helicopter there that was nowhere in sight 2 seconds ago the convoluted grapple system , constantly running out of ammo and having to run around like a headless chicken picking up guns, I don't think i remember ever running out in 3. the general feeling of not knowing what you're supposed to be doing next (i know its an open world but it just all feels so disjointed) the way chaos now works and you don't really know if you've got all the stuff in a base. the fact that you get most of your gear right off the bat instead of working up to it. the way you change weapons by holding down a button for what seems like an eternity in the middle of an intense firefight. no plantable explosives , no throwable grenades (i only just got jc4 and I'm not far into it so I dunno if they return later) planting explosives was my prime means of destroying bases in 3 and a well placed grenade could get you out of many a tight spot in 4 it's just run in guns blazing with no element of surprise and JC3 does let you aim down sights it's just an ability you need to unlock by doing challenges also whats with the inconsistencies in Ricos appearance through the entire series? it looks like 4 different people.
Lol you never run out of ammo in JC3, they give you like 400 rounds for every gun. Also Rico's appearance is supposed to be aging. If you look at a side by side, in 1, he looks like a maybe 20 year old. Then by Panau he's in his mid 20s (they did kinda frick up his JC2 appearance, he looks really depressed lol) and he has like a little stubble maybe. Then in Medici he's about 30 or so and he has a full beard. By 4 he looks a bit wiser I guess and he is supposed to be like 40 or something. His beard has become thicker and darker with age.
the performance part was the other way around for me, just cause 4 had many hickups and freezes, while just cause 3 ran stable around 60fps on the same specs. this was the case when my pc was pretty potato, and still is now with better specs.
I love just cause 3 more because The boss is more challenging you have to fight a guy in a helicopter with nukes and guns with a shield thats stronger than anything while in JC4 you can't even fight the final boss and the ending is mostly a cutscene so i love just cause 3
I have played both and I miss them. I'm going to buy them again to get that enjoyment again. Finished jc4 but not 3. Absolutely love both games but I don't like how jc4 didn't have duel pistols like jc3
Yeah i enjoy them both too. Not sure why JC4 is seen as such an ugly duckling. Do miss the double pistol/machine pistol, worked well with the whole action movie aesthetic
I think the framerate discussions here are interesting because I have the exact opposite case. On my PC JC3 runs great at over 100fps at all times at max settings, while JC4 runs at 70-90 at high. Very strange
JC4 is a larger open world with less things to do. The world itself is technically more modern and graphically better ( asides water, screen space reflections, global illumination and general lighting ) rocky body textures and LOD management is superior and more performant than JC3. Terrain and vegetation shadows are also very well done in JC4 that now smoothly transition based on the suns angel which JC3 still suffers from the unsightly 5 fps shadow update that jarringly sweeps across the entire landscape ( excluding player and vehicular shadows which update in real time ). That being said the lack of things to do in JC4 with the same cookie cutter locations and cutdown weapon and gadget choices really leaves much to be desired. The cooler color temperature of JC3 is what made the game really pop and set in stone its location based in the Mediterranean, JC4 is so washed out its diverse selection of biomes are all bland and boring. Lastly JC4 features significantly less destruction, guard towers are now rock solid, only wooden bridges can be destroyed and there are less diverse selection of towers and pylons to destroy really there are just fuel tanks and more fuel tanks and radar dishes which gets old after an hour of playing. Really the only thing I would say JC4 has objectively better than JC3 is the more modern world building approach which does lighten up CPU load and improve LOD visuals, also the volumetric weather effects and clouds are a nice touch, though the static billboard clouds in JC3 visually look far better and actually resemble clouds. Overall JC3 is the game to play and JC4 seems to be an optimized version with heavily paired back and streamlined features aka JC3lite.
i hate in jc4 how i have to pause mid fight so i can select different tethering system where you could make makeshift c4 with balloons that explode and rocket boost, but i dont always have that equipped so i need to pause and select all the options, finally do the thing i wanted and then do it all again for something else i wanted to do ( idk why they removed c4 from jc3 it was way better )
I think they are both all round very good games, I think in terms of the base game just cause 4 is better. But just cause 3 had much better DLC no doubt
I loved just cause 3 but the problem wasnt the game it was the performance just awful performance. Just cause 4 is more sandboxy but it runs much better which helps me enjoy it better but jc 3 despite the problems was just a better game than jc4.
I loved Just Cause 3 so just as I was finishing the game, I ordered Just Cause 4. So far I can't get through Just Cause 4 because I keep getting drawn back to the fun in Just Cause 3. Sigh.
hmm i would say its largely the same with a few more tools for you to use - although it does feel a bit slower. Regardless though, if you liked 2, you'll like 3 and 4. They're both going for pennies nowdays (i saw 3 for $3 on the PS store, lol) so it's a pretty low-risk purchase.
im hoping Just Cause 5 is like that, something mega ambitious and huge. Their long break between 4 and 5 means either 5 is going to be amazing or terrible.
The Danger Rising Dlc and Hoverboard saved Just cause 4 for me. Theyre both great games but because the wingsuit is a million times better than 4, ima have to give it to 3
Hi I'm SkyLeX I played both game and I never feel a single lag in my game and I completed full story of both game so I know that just cause 3 is far more better in mission on my opinion but just cause 4 has a lot more serious story and serious environment but when you the talk about variety obviously just cause 4 wins because there is lot more biome but in quality just cause 3 wins because when you check the grass and water quality of just cause 4 it's worst even 2013 game gta v has a better grass and water quality ⭐ so by calculating all points just cause 3 wins ⭐
@@coolshift6783 I feel as though just cause 4 improved upon what just cause 3 did but a lot of people just prefer jc3 because it came first and was more popular (came first meaning they played more of three and got tired of JC4 coz it was more of the same)
I found JC4 closely related to JC2, pretty sure they tried to mimic a lot of things from that game because of backlash from JC3 that came from JC2 fans
you are absolutely correct. i didn't really find a use for the vehicles in either game but fans of the games have let me know how much they love the land and air vehicles
1:18 for me it was complete opposite. JC3 runs about 50-60fps (but I capped on 40) on the Steam deck with High settings. JC4 barely keeps a steady 40fps without SSAO off. It's annoying because I prefer the map of JC4.
If I have an Xbox one X and a 4K OLED tv with a time of response of 1ms (made for games), does it fix the FPS problem in JC3? I want to buy this one cause in my country it’s on sale for about 9 dollars and despite JC4 seems funnier because of the weather (tornados only) it is more expensive.
JC3 has chaos and destruction at the core of the gameplay. In order to liberate a settlement, you have to destroy all the enemy machinery. In JC4 the chaos and destruction is all optional, and you're not really rewarded for it. JC3 also has some pretty extensive cave systems, and I haven't yet found any really notable ones in JC4.
I she. The day one edition of JC4 because I found it at a yard sale for 10 dollars and I was like yo I really want to play this game so I bought it and played it and had fun because of the pure cringe in the story and being free and doing random shit like killing citizens and not having the cops after you something that gta can’t do
PC game footage annoys me because the camera rotation is TOO FAST, because of the mouse. It makes me sick. On consoles it's much smoother because of the analog stick.
Xbox One controllers connect via Bluetooth to Windows 10 PC's with no wires needed. There is also a $10 adapter you can buy to use the traditional 2.4ghz signal.
Unless you have 2GBs of Ram and onboard graphics, JC3 runs wayyy better than something like Call of duty Cold War or GTA5. I just pirated the deluxe edition so I could play replay it on my PC and I was worried how it would run because everyone says it’s bad, but surprisingly my computer handles it perfectly even at maxed settings with 90 FPS and 0 frame time stutter. 1660ti Ryzen 5 2600 2x8GB DDR4
