Normally I'm not a big fan of simple games, but this one is actually one I can enjoy. To borrow Zee's wording from his review, it's very "pleasant." All the artwork is nice and the game is very light, but not in a bad way. I actually tried playing this with my nieces (ages 4 and 6) and they were able to grasp the rules and play the game without any major help. (Although I did leave out the "discard cards to draw cards" thing to reduce complexity a bit.) They even beat me a few times at it! I agree that this is one of those games that works great with families, and it's so simple that just about anyone can play it, which is great when you have a wide range of ages.
+Carl Frodge It's a pun on 'just deserts' (often misspelt desserts), meaning what someone deserves. But this game is about desserts. Perfectly good pun.
Recommended? Ugh. This game is terrible. I love Fluxx. So I'm not against simple games with very little strategy. But this game is crap. Boring. And requires no skill at all. For a filler game, this is as interesting as watching paint dry. Better filler? Love letter. Heck, anything. I played 3 straight games with my play group and we agreed uno is more fulfilling. Save your money!
