Just do one thing and the scratches on your glasses disappear immediately 💥🤯 

Initially, I thought this was a wonderful idea, so much so I tried to remove some really deep scratches on my spectacles. After carefully following each step, I replaced my spectacles (which were now completely destroyed) and immediately walked into my hallway closet thinking it was the front door. Do you have any other bright ideas for a blind man with a broken nose? 🤔.

What a great idea! Getting rid of the large scratches by introducing swirl marks! Now your vision will not be affected by the scratches; it will be affected by the swirl marks!

Also you can use the excess for pie filling, shaving or filling tooth cavities. Also works great as grout for a ceramic tile floor

Great idea for those who dont want to use glasses anymore.

The toothpaste is a fine grit, any fine grit will do such as T Cut in the UK for removing scratches from car paint. The grit size of a car polisher will be more controlled than that of a toothpaste. However for a much finer finish without microscratches using Dura Glit wadding for cleaning brass. I have used it for years on glasses and watch faces. Always polish in straight line going the same way, must be a US equivalent. The problem with the liquid ones is that the fine grit gets into edges and leaves white marks.. It is so fine that it is very difficult to get out of recesses.

the same as yu said but I had coated plastic lenses . It left them totally scratched to the point they could not be used again .I think the only way forward is buy new eye glasses .

A banana and ultra-fine pumice will also work for this. If it doesn't, simply add baking soda and superglue to the scratches, and then buff them out with sandpaper of incrementally-increasing fineness. If that doesn't work, the lenses can be melted down and reground rather easily. If they're still blurry, online retailers offer a variety of inexpensive replacements. Hope this helps.

Most glasses today have a multi-coating to control reflection, to improve light transmission, etc. - just like camera lenses. This process totally destroys the multi-coating.

Should add a warning if you have any blue light or anti glare will ruin them. Also warning not for driving you will be blinded. Otherwise useless for glasses or optical performance.

I find it easier to rub the toothpaste/vaseline on my glasses, then buy a convertible car, and drive through a carwash with the roof down. I then sell the car, and use the profit to stock up on toothpase, vaseline and put a bit aside to use as deposit on another car when my glasses need polished again.

Just use some 80 grit emery paper, make sure to rub in a circular motion while applying liberal force. If lenses are polymer some acetone or brake cleaner will help also.

I haven't tried it but I would think you would need to wash the lens to remove the effect of the mixture. I imagine opticians would be flocking to endorse this procedure, after they supplied your followers with new lenses.

I had light scratches on one lens and OMG this actually worked. I did miss a bit so need to address that area but I can actually use my classes once again. Thanks for this.

This trick may work for GLASS glasses but I would never recommend using petroleum based products on plastic lens unless you really want to make them soft and scratch even worse.

Just ground off the lens coating that had the scratches. Now what state is the glass in ?

I personallly use an orbital sander to smooth out the scratches....

Add a special coat to assist in preventing scratches. I do Not 🚫 agree!! With using toothpaste baking soda fingers clothes . One is able to use a special spray for glasses and the cleaning cloth. Just be patient with yourself. 👍😎🥸🕶️🤓 Toothpaste has abrasive chemicals that will remove the scratch and any uv tint antiglare etc will be scratched off as well. Baking soda will also do the same Fingers on lenses cause scratches. Please be very gentle with your glasses.🤓😎🥸 They will scratch easily. Toothpaste may be able to fill scratches in a small section of the cars paint. Paint is different to glass or protected glass. Do as you wish !! Just be careful with 🕶️ glasses 🤓🤓 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Well that's my theory for today. These are my thoughts and opinions from my readings and research. In the USA. Interesting idea. I'll try this on an old pair and see if it helps. I just hate scratched up, dirty lenses, and cleaning them 4-5 times a day is annoying.

I used this method on my Ferrari windscreen. It works great. Now nobody can see me when they look into the car. I might try this on my Cessna 172 airplane windscreen. I don't need to look through the windscreen as it has IFR instruments and autopilot. You are a genius!

it is not Vaseline but it is the colgate paste that too not for removing the scratches. however it cleans very well. its my experience

in the Army (late 80s) we used clear shoe polish for our cheap plastic lenses... no swirl marks, less fogging, and water repellent!
