There are really two separate questions on the table here: 1. Was the virus manipulated in a Lab, specifically the WIV, rendering it more transmissible between (and preferential to) humans? 2. Was the virus manipulated for Bioweapons purposes? These Witnesses seem to think that answering the second question in the negative renders the first question moot or irrelevant. We need to satisfy the first question before we move on to the second. The Witnesses seem disturbingly unconcerned with the amount of very useful and important information being swept under the rug by their absurd hypothesis. ... What are the odds that SARS CoV-2 "just happened" to leap from bats to humans at this one particular Wet Market (Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market), within this one particular City... and that that particular Wet Market "just happened" to be _across the street_ from a Biosafety Lab 4 (BSL-4) that "just happened" to have been conducting experiments with Bat Coronaviruses?? I don't know about now, but back when the guano hit the fan, China had *ONE* single, solitary Biosafety Lab 4 (the kind of Lab that researches the worst of the worst) within the entire Country, and it "just happened" to be situated smack-dab within the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I repeat: the same exact City where Covid began "just happened" to have the one and only BSL-4 Lab within the entire Country. Coincidence?? And from what I gathered, the particular bats that the Wuhan Lab were extracting Coronavirus from were gathered from a hard to reach cave hundreds of miles away from Wuhan. When Covid first entered my radar, sometime around Trump's 4 February 2020 State of the Union Address... possibly just before the first US Covid case was discovered in Washington State (c. 20 January 2020), every single bit of information I gathered online from that point forward pointed straight to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I'm just an average guy with a moderate interest in Science stuff: I'm not a Scientists, I have no Degree in any Field of Science, and I've no fancy title to my name. And yet, I was able to figure it out almost immediately. The connection to the Lab was staring us right in the face the whole time, I didn't have to connect multiple points with red string, or do any hard work at all. It seems like most of the early reporting was pretty honest and undeniably critical of the WIV. It could not have been anything _BUT_ a Lab Leak. And then suddenly everything changed. Sure, back in January/February of 2020, roughly an equal amount of reporting time and space was devoted to the Wet Market/Zoological origin hypothesis, but even then it literally made no logical sense whatsoever. It _should_ be a testable hypothesis, but as of yet no one has discovered any alleged "Animal Zero," so we have nothing to test the hypothesis on. I do remember there being a brief hullabaloo about pangolins, but that quickly faded into obscurity. We know, at least, from a small study conducted last year by Scientists with the USGS that Mexican free-tailed bats _can_ be infected with Sars CoV-2. However, the bats being tested were intentionally infected (5 out of the 10 bats that were intentionally inoculated with the virus became infected); none of the infected bats showed symptoms of infection; and none of the infected bats transmitted the virus to healthy (uninoculated) bats that were placed in close proximity. So we're supposed to take the word of people who have a glaringly obvious vested interest in maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the CCP?? The same people who have a lot to lose if the Lab Leak hypothesis is verified??

Smart people with a touch of common sense and a good bs detector don’t blindly believe “authorities” just because they have degrees or hold positions of power. They also don’t believe ideologues, zealots or conspiracy theories. Smart people research for themselves, read the data themselves, educate themselves so they can assess the validity of what the power structure feeds them through a docile, corrupt, and compliant media.

Keep in mind that "international harmony" is a very unlikely (nebulous, pretentious, antiquated) expression for a Western official while it is exactly a way some Asian (e.g. Chinese) diplomat would speak to sound both noble and as unspecific as possible. So I'm wondering whether Dr. Collins spent too much time having conversations with Chinese authorities so he picked up this expression.
It was a lab leak, but it was accidental. It did not serve the Chinese government in any way for this to happen. It was very very bad for the stability of the Chinese dictatorship.

I used to have so much respect for all the sciences, esp. medicine. However over the last three years, after seeing the dishonesty, the immense egocentric leanings of that profession, I no longer have any respect for medical science. I am very quickly becoming aware of political interference in the sciences, and the self interest of all involved. The higher up the scale the worse it seems to be! All that matters to them, it seems, is protecting their own position and prestige. Lesson learned.
