You have obviously never dealt with an elderly relative suffering from dementia. Biden may have been tired, but he was obviously sharp and fully in command of the facts. Even when he made a slight stumble -- e.g. giving the King of Morocco the wrong regnal number: he first said "Muhammed VII" -- he immediately went back and corrected it to "Muhammed VI". Biden's sharp as a tack.

Biden's response was to be as disarming as possible -- first, these agreements were mutually beneficial to those who made them and didn't hurt China; second, he doesn't wish China ill, and, besides China has enough problems with its own economy just now. All of that was just to put the ball firmly back into Xi's court. It was a masterclass in exact diplomacy.
