Thats cool. Just don't let the spring fall off, then someone mistakenly plugs it in thinking the TV is unplugged 😱😂😂😂 Early 90's we built a homemade projector. We built a box that was about 4½' tall and wide enough to fit a 19inch CRT TV in it sitting it's back on top of a board and a small scissor jack. The crank attached through a hole wide enough just in case it had to move up or down. On top of the box was 4 full page magnifiers and set at an angle over the magnifiers was a mirror used to flip the image and to project the image onto the wall. At 8' to 10' the image filled the whole 10×10 wall easily. Also between the mirror and the magnifiers was a ball image, showing what movie we were watching. That only happened using 4 magnifiers 😮. That spring will luckily bring in one channel. Get a tv antenna.

It might work in Russia or someplace other than the US... you honestly think cable companies haven't thought about people trying everything to steal cable? By law in US, there are FREE air channels out there if you don't want a cable box/ company - just get an antenna....

If you're lucky you *might* pick up a few of your local broadcast channels (as in ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS) *if you live where you get a good signal from those channels. There's certainly no way you'd receive "all the channels in the world." By the time you spent messing around making this nonsense you could have just bought a decent TV antenna, and would likely pick up more channels with the purchased antenna.

Good idea to make an antenna, I did it.

On my non smart tv i can stick a twisty from my bread package and get my local channel. You have to burn off some of the wire where it sticks in.

Using that dull razor blade and cutting into the wire shielding and exposing the wire like that drives me nuts. And they sell halfway decent soldering irons for not a lot of money instead of those cheapo ones. And a heat gun doesn't exactly cost a lot of money and if you don't have one, a hairdrier on high setting is better than a lighter. You got all of these other parts that you had to one off, why not have real tools?? A co-ax crimper isn't super expensive either. And as someone else said, this thing isn't going to be enough unless you live in an area where OTA is really powerful. Get a real antenna, they are cheap these days. If you want to watch TV while holding up that antenna go for it. Errrrrr, no holding the wires back together isn't going to fix the problem. That is totally bogus!!!
